Snacked on an RX8 tonight
Godzilla hadn't had a good hearty meal in a long time, so when a yahoo in an RX8 took off passing me (on track of course) I let Godzilla breathe till say about 6200RPM ..... reeled that little sucker in like it was bait on a fly line. Once we passed 100 (uhhhh feet per minute), it was like swatting a fly.

Not that I'd engage in a speed contest on the street 
, but nobody has jacked around with me in the shark yet. I get ricky racer boys in imports always playing around my 911. I know better than to drag race in that car-it's quick, but not up to par with some of the newer cars.

Yeah those guys are REALLY fun to embarass...had a blast peeing on all their firehydrants once I got my '86 (before turbo). They're rated at 240hp, but most dyno about 168 or so I'm told.
Also, the local Porsche dealer service manager just sold his: 8mpg average & adding a quart every month. Ouch!

RX8....sorry but that is nothing I would be too proud to beat-up on....all RX8s were over-rated in their HP by Mazda which is why about 1-1.5years ago Mazda stopped advertising their hp in their ads.
They were supposedly 240 to 250hp....but I have been to a few RX8 dyno shoot-outs where stock RX8s were pulling just 100ft.lbs of torque AT THE WHEELS - how embarrasing for an owner who just dropped 30large on a supposed sports car that cannot even pull 100ft.lbs at the rollers.
Mazda bough back many of these cars due to very dis-satisifed owners. Plus the oil consumption problem.
A friend of mine works for MazdaSpeed in Anaheim, CA so this is fact.
The new Turbocharged RX7 supposedly coming here soon will be another beast altogether. The older FD3S RX7 that were twin Turbo'd (last year was '96) would give an S4 a sweet run.
