Nitrous Oxide on 928s ??
Hi All
I am about to buld a NOS system for my 928 here in the UK.
Has anyone done it in the US ? As im uncertain where to place the nozzles (8)
Will they fit in the spider rubbers at top of engine (16 valve) or any other suggestion please ?
I would fit a supercharger but the import duty alone would cover the cost of a twin 11lb bottle NOS system, temporarily until I decide about the blower
All the best Brett

I did a single nozzle setup on my old '82. It helped that's for sure. Not sure where you'd put the jets for a direct-injection setup. I suppose you could drill and tap each leg of the runners, but I believe there are some setup that piggy-back on the fuel injectors themselves. You're setup is a whole 'nother level above what I had on my humble '82. Do a search, I believe there might have been one guy doing this kind of setup. Good luck.
Btw, those bottles are a real pain in the ***. That's why I'm moving to a SC.

Hi Andrew
I read your thread before I posted this.....best reading ive had for ages You and Mark had all the conversations that I have been asking myself
The only reason I am going for 8 port direct injection is that my car has around 300 plus hp already and I wanted to run 100 shot or possibly 150....and didnt think I could safely do it with a single jet...but.....you are the expert...is it possible and safe on single ...assuming 100 is a minimum..and 200 maximum ??
If my engine does blow...as everyone in the UK thinks apart from me....I will rebuld it with low comp pistons and maybe a stroker crank and then add a HUGE blower ...then maybe Nos that as well lol
Did you use a single bottle as I was thinking of using TWIN 11 lb bottles as i didnt think ONE would last long ??
I hope you dont mind me asking you a lot of questions on this as you and mark have obviously done everything that I am planning ??

Mark is the REAL expert on this as he passed his system on to me. Anyway, I would say a 100 from a single nozzle is the max. If you want 200hp, then you'll definatly need to go to a direct injection setup. I have no experience with the DI stuff, sorry. I can tell you though that a single bottle will last for about 60-90 seconds with a 75 shot if you were to hold the button. So running twin bottles will be last quite a while as you only use for that little extra boost. Just remember that stuff goes fast if you hit the happy button a lot.

use wet shot only
100hp single nozzle(easiest set up)
anything larger direct port
direct port should be tapped into the runner, not the rubber boot as far back from the head as possible for optimale atomization
direct port is alot of hoses, and alot to go wrong
if you have an auto, i would recommend you not going past 100 shot, and i would recommend a progressive switch for ease on your tranny
nitrous is fun, but if its not for drag racing i think its usless. Its more expensive than people think, especially to do it right. Now add up filling those bottles all the time for something that isn't giving you power all the time. for instance, why would you build an engine for nitrous?
imo do some head work for more power, or get FI and be on boost all the time.
