Cool!
I like the red highlight, but white works too. Easy to do, eh?

Super Easy to do my friend...I had actually done this 6-8 months ago, but never felt it worthy of posting over...but you're post made me think maybe it was. Yes, I think the white is a nice contrast to the Black/Black layout of my car, so this is what I went with. Glad you like it...

Perry...most of the cars of my era...have a plain, "Clear Lens" in the door sills. This allows the body paint color to be visible through this "window"...In my case...with the car being Black...and with a Black Interior...the clear window, kinda "looked" not too good...So, I figured, if I were to remove this sill, and paint the clear 928 "outline" from the bottom side...this might (and DID)look much better than the OEM "Clear Window" solution provided by porsche. One of the benefits of ownership...if you screw something up...No-one has to know, unless you Narc on yourself...whereas, if yoo should happen to stumble across a "improvement"...(no matter how insigificant)...then you can claim credit for this "stroke of genius"...till someone else on the forum tells yoou this has been discussed and discounted as "rediculous" many times..."years ago", and then get called a "newbie"...its really not a pretty situation. Har Har Har... Just kidding about all this, you "know" that right ???

Nice job. How do you remove them? Is it only clipped there? I don't want to pull and brake them. I think I'll do mine in silver. My car is cobalt blue. Should look nice.
Thanks.
Bertrand.

HI to remove the door sills without breaking all of the plastic bits first remove the push pin that secures the aft end of the sill, you will lose the setting pin as it has to be pushed thru to remove it, once the pin is pushed then remove the grommet now gently pry up the sill from the carpet side DO not pry on the painted part, once the carpet side is pried up then under the (928) area if you look very carefully you will see a clear grommet installed into the door sill this is for a soild molded fitting pin on the underside of the the 928 area, it is molded in clear plastic this pin needs to be pried up very carefully then slide the whole trim panel towards the seat this will let the sliding pins on the painted part disengage the trim panel. To remove the painted part trim attachment clips turn them 90 degrees and pull up there will be a plastic cup that the sill plate pins plug into they stay in the door sill
.PS on the new replacement door sills they have omitted the aft grommet securing point , your choice on redrilling the replacment sill plate or just add some silicone sealant to the door sill where the original grommet went thru.
To install the panel fill the aft hole with silicone or get a new grommet with setting pin put the white T pins into the outer edge carfully put panel onto the door sill with the alignment pin that is under the 928 installed first then gently press the outer pins into place then the carpet side clamps finally install the grommet or leave it out or install a big head screw

I was always wanting someone to make the 928 out of billet aluminum as a replacement. Nicole sells the plastic look metal that glues over them but I don't want to do that. I slid some thin anodized metal under the letters a while back effectively doing what you did with less work.

My car is black with the champaigne interior. I've given thought to cutting a few pieces of manilla file folder and sliding them under there so the lettering matches the interior color. I may seal the paper in some plastic packing tape to keep it dry. Pics when I do it...

I recall someone else did something similar, Bob - turned out nice.
Know that the door sill plate has a couple plastic pins in the center that push into the threshold to keep it flat, so it may not be possible to just slide something in there - the sill plate may need to be removed.
