I think ill be saying, "Frookin BMW" later this summer at Sears with him! he ran a 1:48.8 out there and my best is 1:49.2 chasing that ferarri 360. I may have some video then, that he can post of me chasing him!!
classic video though. got to love the subtitles.

yep, just a quick bobble of the gears. amazing how much you loose on a little mistake. I knew i had some more HP /weight advantages so I could get him back on the main straight if needed. Those BMWs are tough. stock, they rate them at 333hp vs the stock S4, 15 years older at 315hp stock. we both have headers, he is lighter, and has to have all those bolt on mods ($$$ for ecu changes, suspension, cams, etc) one just sold recently, in more pro prepared shape, for near $70k. Got to love the 928 value here!

I love that guy's vids, the one I have from last season at that track is nearly identical with him trying like all hell to force his 6-banger around the mighty Holbert Machine. He carries a ton of speed through the corners when he hits his line, but then That Fookin V8 leaves him behind.

My fav from this commentary was after he was gifted the pass:

"Stay ahead..."

"Don't do anything..."

"...stupid..."

"like miss a...

...CRUNK!"

And then he gifted that pass right back!

Give him some good tires to make up for the power disadantage, Mark!
and tell him,
A) Thanks for the vids, keep 'em coming, and
B) Replace that Fookin cracked windshield already!

"windshield" ..... you got me laughing at that one!! I know, huh!!

I already gave him the tire ticket. Now, he is dumpster diving at SpeedGT events too. Now, i have to compete with him on getting there earlier, as he was the early bird and got all the good tires at laguna SpeedGT world challenge.

I think the cars are pretty close, but the Holbert car has better gears for laguna compared to his, and his turn in advantage doesnt pay the dividends it has at tracks like Sears. i think he is near 300rwhp and 2700lbs while my car is near 2800lbs and 320rwhp. The bmer, just got one of those lightweight flywheels. the only thing it really did , was make it harder to get the think into gear. (but he did drop about 15lbs of rotating mass!)

Here is a pic of Scot and me in practice.

Great video, Mark.
Some cool apex clipping.

Just got my broken driver's side mirror replaced. Got the old one in hand and it's
not light. Hope the aero GTS mirrors are lighter.
Anyone make glass/carbon fiber fixed mirror replacments for the racer boys.
Or do race specs require factory motorized mirror units.

Drove once without driver's side mirror and won't do it ever again.
