Hi Carl sorry for the slow response, here's a link to my car's ad, remember they are Australian Dollars, (steering wheel is on the wrong side too)there is blurb with it too. Just remember there is not a cent of labour in that price, just the original purchase price and the parts both new and used to bring it up to that standard.

My restored S2's ad

Cheers Greg

Yes, it still has the original paint job on it.

Talking Only 12 times paint before I was happy

Did same mistake as Greg regarding painting parts "apart". Ended up after 8 times paint by putting the car together and painted again, so the paint would flow equally - oh did I mention sanding like 6 times (from we started the first paintjob). The main reason for the many layers off paint was mainly that it wouldn't stick to the edges, cornes e.t.c. The white primer/sealer was shinning thru. I will give it one more time this summer.......

holy naked netherreigons, brendan, and other brave strippers! that's friggin scarey! I always wanted to do a frame up on mine w/a color change, but never had the guts to take it apart that much/was always afraid I'd never get it back together again after seeing all the parts just from my motor... guess that's why you have multiple sharks - from all the left over parts! ha!

The only reason is that the plans change. I have bought things that have become obsolete. So I have stopped buying stuff until its actually needed. I am paring down the fleet though. I have decided that I only wish to work on NEW or completely restored cars, and maybe even not so much that as build engines for them. And just basically drive.

I don't know if this is too visible in this pic but the scar on my right front fender has to go. I'll post an update pic from a better camera if not.

The only way I know how is to bang the crap out of it and then respray the whole car. As I am sure anyone with midway experience in painting can tell you, you can't just paint a fender on a 22 year old anything and expect it to match. Just the clear coat alone would stick out like you wont believe.

I recently removed the front chin spoiler and found that the clear coat under the side pieces on the fenders, while dirty and in need of cleaning, was a lot newer looking and solidified my goal of getting the entire car repainted but to keep it the same factory color to avoid a major strip down.

I suspect it depends on how old the paint is... I had mine partially re-painted only 6mos after it was totally repainted by same shop/guys (an assclown sprayed brake fluid/solvent all over my new paint job at zero miles)... turned out perfect...
