Default Interesting option for dash restoration

I've not seen this before. I found on E-Bay tonight. Has anyone used this product before?

I had seen this a couple of weeks ago. I was wondering if it was Rob's, the same guy that put together the leather dash cover group buy.

Yes that's me.
BTW. If anyone would like me to install their leather or vinyl dash cover, I'll do it for $250. You pay the shipping.

Will these cracks in dash or pod need to be repaired before the covers are installed?
Are you offering to install the pod cover, dash cover and A pillar covers for $250 in labor?

(still reviewing my options..... good to have so many!)

Yes. Cracks must be repaired before the cover is installed.
No. I'm not offering all that.
I'm offering to do just the dash cover for $250.
For that price I'll strip the old leather off, fix minor cracks and install the new cover.
If the foam under the vinyl has lifted off the base metal frame in more a couple small places, the foam is gone from the metal frame, or the dash is bent, it usually easier and cheaper to get a decent core from one of the big three or a wrecking yard and work with that.

I just did 2 last week, one took about 4 hours the other 12 hours.
The one that took 12 hours had more than a few places where the foam had lifted or was gone. I don't plan on doing another one like that again. Its just not worth it. I expect the average to be 5-8 hours.

If anyone takes me up on the offer I'd want to see some pictures and get all the details worked out beforehand, but I do expect to be able to do most of them for $250.

Over the last few years I've repaired and covered about 10- 12 dashes in leather. So far, no complaints.

I can do the A pillars but since they are a lot easier, it may not be worth paying me to do them and shipping them back and forth.

Paul (Champagne) is doing the pod covers.

how about covering a vinyl dash. The dash in my 84 is vinyl. What would you do around the defrost vents?

Yes, That's no problem. All 928 dashes were vinyl covered in leather.
The one I have on ebay now was vinyl. Its a vinyl cover over the original vinyl but it could have been leather. It now has the French seam and defroster vents.

You have 2 options for defroster vents.
1. Trim it for a vent frames and buy used set, $60.00 from 928 Intl
2. Carefully trim the leather or vinyl cover, areas around the vent, fill if necessary and then glue it directly to the dash. A bit of work, but not difficult.

I've done it both ways. Using the vent frame is the easiest.

That's right. I'm starting to see Porsche leather on everything everywhere I go.

Heinrich, you might recognize that particular brown cover in that picture.

BTW everything will be shipping Wednesday. Easter weekend was kind of a bust on getting work done.
