Hmmmm so Dave......... your advice from personal experience in the past makes me chuckles cause it sounds to me like your telling him to be a "Viper specific car geek" in an attempt to impress the dad & yet then advise us dads to "show off our gun collection" when such a kid comes around & attempts this very effort with us! So...... you got something against this poor kid?? Sendin the lamb to the slaughter??

And to you 928 owners with daughters.... if your daughter brings home a pimple-faced kid that can read the option codes on your tank sticker shoot him right then and there. If you take the bait and decide that he's a harmless car-nerd he'll be all over your daughter like a cheap suit within 15 minutes. Trust me on this one... mmmkkkay?

(Let's just say that at one time many many years ago there was a pimple-faced king that researched some trivia on 1958 Caddy's, various Edels, and - of all things - some WWII military Rolls Royce jeep-like thing. And that said research had little do to with interest in those cars.)

A bright yellow Viper was the first car I saw that didn't make it round the Nurburgring when I was there at the weekend. It was significantly shorter than at the beginning of the day.

That's exactly what appealed to me. However, it would be nice to see a live one every once in a while...

No no Mel. You've got it all wrong. I'm trying to help out ALL 928 owners here. For the younger crowd I'm giving (unwanted) advise on how make good with the ladies and for the crowd with daughters I'm letting them in on the trick! All this under the assumption that the Viper owner in question isn't going to get clued-in.

Can't believe this tread went this far. Did it occur to anybody that the although it might sound like bait, the old man was cool and just trying to tease his daughter as much as tease another car guy? That the guy wants to establish a connection with his daughter's love interest? It could be a loaded comment, it could be a cool opening. We really don't have enough info here to measure his privates and I hope Fox doesn't go there in the "*****" position, sure could get things off on the wrong foot.

When I showed up at my nephew's house with the shark, proud as I could be, his comment was "Oh, yeah, Lisa's (his wife) brother had one of those - sold it." Kinda stole my thunder and I'm thinking, the brother-in-law couldn't handle the maintenance and he had to get rid of it. But the real issue here is my nephew is a little dysfunctional, I try not to hold that against him; he wasn't trying to dis me, even tho most anyone would know how to handle it better.

Chances are I won't meet her father for awhile, she rarely sees him, and when she does its just a him and her kinda thing. I am not quite sure wether or not he was calling a Porsche a sissy car or the 928 specifically, either way the comments here are priceless.

Or you could say "is not!" and he could say "is too!"
Dodge and Chevy make the other cars, not the girl's father. I could criticize the **** out of just about any car, but not because the owners don't like my car. I have three 928s and I have to admit they do seem soft compared to a Viper, very gentlemanly. I didn't read all the posts, but alot of guys came off like little girls with their feelings hurt.

What we are doing are really comparing phallic symbols...
I say long live the phallic symbol in any form, especially the very powerful and nimble 928!

No. You're just a week late on this thread. We got bored and moved on to figuring out if we're going to let anyone test drive Bigs' 928.
