I designed a laser cut stainless plate that goes over the condenser that will stop the motor in the even anything fails. Roger and Sean each have one of my inventions.

I leave the hood up every time I park the car in the garage. I've had the habit of checking things... surveying hoses and fittings, and these clips (I had one missing on a previous 928 - so these are on my radar). But why take the chance?...just ordered a pack of 10 locking clips.
These and 1-amp fuses would be good Frenzy swag.
Does anyone know of any other location on the 928 that would benefit from the same size clip?

This afternoon, I finally got around to replacing the prone-to-dislodge E-style retainer rings ("circlips") with the nice, safer McMaster 94824A400 "external retainer rings" (a bag of these have been sitting on my workbench for a few months). Figured I'd add a post to this thread to serve as a yet another PSA to those who haven't done this yet.

FWIW: I just replaced me flimsy original clips with the Porsche A/T shifter clip 999-166-005-02. the fit is very snug and surely gives peace of mind.
being a new owner, posts like this are more than valuable.
if any of your old timers (no disrespect) can think of other posts like this, PLEASE give them a bump for the new guys. I am very appreciative!
