It is a very nice custom piece and we are very proud of it ! It is the two cooler variant which replaces all of the Behr units and is designed with internal heat exchangers with proper capacity and flow. We could have had it made cheaper but I do not think we could have it made any better ! The additional heat transfer capability and benefits of all alloy construction as well as lower price compared to the factory Behr all seem like good things to me.

It's nice that this radiator is better than the OEM. Wasn't the original radiator's capacity already over designed for the 928 or am I wrong?

Any plans to manufacture rads withouht the auto trans cooler? This could make it less expensive and more attractive for the 5-speed owners.

Jim
Does the total capacity increase? Is it a stock drop in for S4's with both side tanks? Or is just a radiator, without the side tanks?

Actually the stock radiator was designed for 4.5L and 200hp. It was never increased at all, even with 345hp. Thast what Jim always says, even before he sold Custom rads.

Certainly a new radiator of any kind probably has better cooling capacity than a 10-15 year old radiator with an unknown degree of clogging blockage. Porsche tested the 928 in the Sahara Desert in the summer time ! So the Behr is a good radiator. If there is sufficient interest in a engine oil cooler only radiator that is a possibility it just makes minimum order quantities more difficult to fill and adds to inventory costs as well. PCNA many years ago went to a one size fits all supersession to the two cooler radiators for those same reasons I believe. EDIT .... since there have been a number of requests (as noted below) Mark is having some no cooler radiators made as well for the racer guys/ late GTand GTS 5 speed cars.

ok, thanks for clearing that all up. It does make since since vast majority of the 928s are autos.

If it's like my custom radiator you should be proud. The welds on my custom built rad look as if they came straight from the forecastle of an Iowa class battleship.

SOLID.

Does yours look like this Jim?

We will be offering a version without any coolers for $795 and that should be available in 4-6 weeks.

I think what you're buying with this radiator is 928 International's ***spotless*** reputation for doing right by their customer. I had a Behr once, brand new from the dealer. Spendy. Mixed oil and coolant exactly one year after installation. Out of warranty, sorry.

I think you guys should make one with an integrated air-air or air-water intercooler for all those SC (and, soon, turbo) cars on the road now

Good one Mark like we could get everyone to agree on one design ! I think not ! maybe best to concentrate on the 17,000 or so normally aspirated cars still registered in the US.

Just ordered mine. Last track event every time I'd make a hard left the right side of my windshield would steam up. Can't wait.

haha...that would be because you have big big red brakes....ext. adj. Koni/eibach setup, stock seatbelts.. and hit those corners hard....

Have you ever looked over at your passenger wanna bet their face is slammed up against the glass on the right side of your windshield..and bet they are breathing hard too...

hahaha..

later,
Tom
