Hi

Is that rear wheel hp ??

My Uk S2 4.7 had 284 at wheels and 290 torque Auto unadjusted...

Roughly same specs as your apart from x-pipe fitted since and not dynoed again yet...but id think from seat of pants feel...around 5 to 10 more hp....

All the best Brett

What model of dyno was it?

Different "brands" produce different results.

Regardless, your car is probably faster than a stock S4 now.

yes, rear wheel HP...the x-pipe is from 928 motorsports...
before this the car was dynoed with the chips, cats and rmb ...rwhp 257.3 / torque was 242.6.... i wonder why i got such a jump in torque and not necessarily HP ??
thanks

So, you got a real nice 40 lb-ft of torque but only 14 HP. Maybe you're running out of gas at the top. How was the A/F ratio? When did you last change the fuel filter? Is the WOT part of the throttle switch working? You probably have more HP coming, but enjoy the torque. I certainly do!

auto adjusted???

does that mean some kind of conversion factor?

284 at the rears for any 4.7 is unusually high, but certainly not impossible.

the 85, has cams in the same range of performance (heck, best the 928 ever had on any car, including the GTS) , but 4 valve, same compression, same size MAF and it has 300cc more displacement! really no reason why a US 85 shouldnt always be better than a euro 4.7, except when the US still has the cats!

my part euro 5liter was 292rwhp, i think the east coast guys got near 300+hp with CIS.

Hi Mark

That 284.6 was straight from rear wheels...NO adjustment

They DID adjust for auto box afterwards by 7% to give me 306 at the flywheel...although I think you americans would adjust by 14% to 18% which would give me around 330 to 350 at the flywheel...

It IS a very powerful engine....always was even before my chips...now it has the X=PIPES (Ritech Systems ones from Richard Armstrong in UK) I will have to dyno it again...

I have a dyno jpg but cannot post here as not a member...I could email it to anyone interested and they could post it ?

No Cats by the way,,never had them from new.

All the best Brett

I have heard of mixed results with chips. The 85/86 32v is reported to respond well but my car NA dynoed better with stock v AA chips. I've heard of others having AA chips that when tested did not meet expectations. I think AA has that sorted out now. How old are the chips, brand, how did you acquire them? With SMT-6, Tom Cloutier exhaust and head p&p I was at 291rwhp 290rwtq on a dynojet with my 85. 271/285 is nothing to sneeze at congratulations.

Think V-Tach has the Carl Fausett X.

Not sure how to compare HP/torque ratings with the drum roller dynos out there.
V-Tach's shark was run on one of those bolt-on wheel hub dyno machines.

Did David Lloyd do a before dyno run?
