My '94 GTS (TONKA) came with the OE 17" 'teddy bear' Cup II wheels, and I like those on a 928. I've had various Porsche OE and custom (forged and non-forged) wheels on various 928's as well. Really liked the 3.6 turbo style on my S4. The non-stock wheels I liked best for the GTS were the 996 & Boxster option 'Sport Design' wheels (18" with 8" front and 10" rear). The 8" are rare and hard to find. The Sport Design is also easy to clean!

As part of my ongoing maintenance project that is nearing completion I decided to refresh my three piece wheels that were getting somewhat jaded with minor corrosion taking place under the lacquer that had been breached. I dismanled the wheels, removed the lacquer from the forged centres, ground out the corrosion, did my best to get back to flat metal, wet and dryed the surface and polished the things best I could. My arms ache and whereas the finish is not perfect they are a darn site better than they were this time last week. I had hoped to get some professional involvement but nothing doing so I just had to knuckle under and get dirty!

The photo below shows the wheels as they were earlier this afternoon in the unassembled condition. They are now bolted back up and sealed complete with new valve stems. Still have to do something with the centre caps - all being well they will go to have new rubber fitted tomorrow albeit I am having trouble finding the rubber I want so I have a cunning plan!

My 986 Boxster S MkIIs are 52mm in the front. No issues. I think that offset falls into the 'barely okay' category.

This 928's lines, wide body and the deep wheels, centerfold material. Not one of mine Just dreaming. Did not mean to imply it was.

These are cool and unique looking. Curious what the widths and offsets are. Have any pics of them on a car before you stripped and polished them?

Anyone local to me interested in a set of MY 02 5 spoke BBS wheels.

I have acquired too many sets of wheels and now that my son purchased a 981 cayman he has 3 sets of his own so I am drowning in wheels.

I had them stripped inspected and professionally refinished. Lighting doesn't do them justice. I am asking $2200 local pickup North Jersey at this time but I am open to offers

996.362.136.03 8 x 18 ET50
996.362.140.03 10 x 18 ET65

If this is the wrong place let me know and I will list them elsewhere. I saw them on 928 GT R's post and thought others might be interested since they look so good on his.

Those are also referred to as the Carrera LW (lightweight). They're similar to the Carrera IIIs, but the LWs are identified by the pointy face spoke profile.

Look nice and clean. GLWS.

I put them on my outlaw GT which has the factory rolled fenders and is at factory ride height. Noticed an immediate improvement in turn in and overall handling with the lightweight 18's.

Highly recommend these wheels!

Nice color, but those two wheels are turning backwards.

Twist wheels are pretty spiffy, but the common problem with them is that they are all twisted the same way which puts the twist going the wrong direction to the direction of rotation on one side of the car, usually on the passenger side (LDH). I have however seen Porsche Turbo twist-like wheels twisted the other way a couple of times. It would be interesting to see if two different sets of twist wheels with the opposite twists could be combined so that there is one set with the twist correct on both sides of the Porsche. I have seen only one place where the Porsche Turbo Twists are depicted with the twist going the same/correct way on both sides of the car shown. Has anyone else ever noticed where that might be?
