Interesting thread, my 79 track car came with custom metal pedals. My first task on my spring to-do list is throw them away to put the stock rubber back on.
What am I missing here?

We (Jager and Hooked On Cars) have pedal and dead pedal covers made of aluminum or stainless steel. You can also get them in composite materials, if you like.

For those looking to put the Porsche crest in a pocket, when they ship the pedals to you, they include a kit with the expoy needed, and instructions and also include the Porsche part number to buy the crest from your local Porsche dealer.

I just find the pedals I have cause too much friction between my feet and the pedal. I cannot "slide" my foot off the brake very easily - makes heal/toe driving a bit tricky. I'll post pics once I dig them up.

I just placed my order! In the check out process, there is a space where it asks Year, Make and Model, in this section, put in that the order is part of the PORSCHE RENNLIST group buy. Also, enter any options you want, like crest, engraving, or heel/toe addition on gas pedal. Overall, pretty simple to place order.
Rob (Ultimate Pedals) asked that we post when we placed the order, he will be watching the thread.

I just wanted to let you know what the interest has been, originally, when it was just posted on the 928 and 944 forums, I had 21 rennlisters who said that they would participate. Since it started, I posted on the 911, 993, Boxter, 996 and 997 forums. There have been orders from all the forums. I would think that we should top the 20+ with no problem. When you place the order, the receipt shows the full list price. Like the instructions say that is not charged, it doesn't reflect the group buy discount. I plan on speaking with Rob of Ultimate pedals 1-2 days before the buy will end to get an idea of how many participated. Also, when you order, it would be great if you would post here so others can get an idea how many oders have been placed.
Thanks,
Glen

I removed the pedals from my 78 as I mentioned Glen. I just looked at the yesterday and there is a threaded hole right in the center of each of the pedals. Do you think this is where the new face would screw onto?

I will probably order mine in the next couple of days. I was waiting for March to get here. Did you ever find out how much the Porsche crests are ? That was what caught my eye in the excellence ad.
This is only slightly off topic but... can someone explain exactly what heal/toe driving is? I see the term alot but am not exactly sure what it is. Thanks.

Can somebody explain the differences in feel between the shiny, frosted and inserts? I like the shiny because I'm worried about the frosting rubbing off over time, but do I need the inserts to keep from sliding around or are they ok without them?
TIA!

I would imagine it's the steering wheel crest as the hood crest is probably too large. If so, you're looking at about $70 (w/ shipping).
