Currently, I count 13 orders that have been placed, just by people posting on the various forums that they have place order. I have names of 18 more who responded to the original post that they were interested, but I do not know if they placed orders yet. If they do, we will get the max discount. At current numbers the discount is 30%. If you place an order, please post here so I can keep track of how many orders are placed.
I will speak with Ultimate pedals next week to see if they have a different count. I will also inquire about the part number for the Porsche crest for those interested in ading the crest to their pedals.

That would be me!

I just e-mailed about the engraving and will place the order as soon as they get back with me.

Alot of people were asking what the crest in the pedal looks like. I was able to scan in the Ultimate Pedals ad which shows the Porsche crest in the pedals. Ultimate Pedals doesn't sell the pedal with the crest installed. They will machine in the pocket, then you have to buy the crest from Porsche. They will supply the Porsche part number and supply the instructions and epoxy to install yourself. Here is the scanned in ad:

I just received an email from Rob of Ultimate Pedals.

"Hi Glen,

Thank you for the links to the group buy.

I'm sorry but I have bad news about the crest pocket.

Apparently this is termed "enabling" in the legal field.

We have been strongly advised not to offer the crest pocketing anymore."

It looks like anyone wanting the pocket for the crest will not be able to get it. I will speak with Rob tomorrow and see if there is anything that can be done.

Thanks,
Glen

I just had a conversation with Rob about this "enabling" issue. The issue is the shape of the pocket machined matching the Porsche crest shape. You can have a pocket machined in the pedals such as a circular pocket, and that would not be a concern about copyright infringements. If you want a circular pocket, rectangular pocket, etc., machined into your pedal, just include that in your comments when ordering.

If you have already ordered the pocket, I would email or call Rob and let him know if you want any kind of pocket machined into your pedals.

Thumbs down

"Enabling"? Ha! Ya, enabling Porsche owners who otherwise wouldn't need a crest to have a reason to go out and buy one, from Porsche. You'd think Porsche would be encouraging and thanking these guys for adding to Porsche's bottom line while respecting the Porsche trademark. Needless to say, I won't be adding to Porsche's bottomline on this deal. Pity.

Well that is horse $h!t. That was the thing that really made the pedals "pop". I'm not so sure I want to spend $400 on plain pedals.

Does anybody have a picture of the flanged foot rest? The one on the site doesn't work. I was trying to decide between it and the regular one. Once I decide, I'll have my order in.

Just ordered mine. Full set for a 5-speed with "928 S4" engraved on the flanged footrest in the "shiny non-slip" finish. I wanted to do the 9-clutch 2-brake 8-gas, but when I realized it would be $75 for three pedals it's just the footrest instead. Can't wait to get them.

Default Update on manufacturing and shipping

I received this email from Rob today, pedals shipping early next week"

"Hi Glen,

Would you mind posting that we will begin production of the group buy pedals
starting tomorrow, 3/23/06.

Pedals will begin shipping on Friday, and continue till mid next week.

Unfortunately, the Porsche group buy coincided (within two days) of the BMW
group buy which ended 3/15.

Instead of our usual 3-5 days to ship the group buy orders, we are looking
at 5 to 7 business working days.

Please accpet our apologies for the delay, we appreciate everyones
understanding.

We hope everyone will like the pedals, and let us know.

We very much appreciate customer feedback.

Don't settle for "One Size Fits All" pedals.

Have a great day!
