OK, so let's all all plan for March 5. In the meantime we'll have to figure out a meeting point and a route with little or no traffic. If anyone has suggestions, please PM or email me!

I've available those days, but starting so far south I might have to pass until the wine country drive. It depends on the meeting point and start time.

Unfortunately, the sofa in my house is already taken for the night before the drive.

However, there is a motel close to my house, that charges $38 per night. That's only $19 per person - not much more than going out to dinner...

Just in case you want to save yourself from some early morning hectic, and ejoy Sharks at the Coast with us.

I will probably hold out until a wine country drive only because it is closer to me. If you want a suggestion on a winery to visit, how bout the Francis Ford Coppola winery? Lots of parking (easy to put all the sharks together), cool stuff to check out from his movies (he has an original Tucker automobile), and of course good wine. Drive the wine country, go to the winery, then invite ourselves to Beth's house (just kidding Beth)

Would that be something you and Beth could organize?

Either way, the coast here is very scenic, and our drive might give you a nice reason to go see it again. Consider combining it with a relaxing, romantic weekend or so...

Nicole,

I'll let you know if there's anything additionally fun/intersting going on here on the 5th. I'll also think about some back roads we can jaunt, and some places we can take a break at... Ventana in Big Sur might be nice, as there is enough parking, and we can all sit on the patio and take in the views and ocean air. Besides, the food is also great...!

Gerry, Brian & Richard - Re: Laguna on the 20th.

With helmet and long sleeves you should be fine. They'll probably make you sign a waiver. Wheels should be back in time, but if things change, I'll let you know.

Nicole & all - I can't make the 5th because of the SCCA licensing school. Have fun though and drive safely.

That's a bummer, Dennis! But hopefully you'll get a nice group to come to Laguna Seca when you're there. And I promise this will not be the only fun drive this year - particulary, if Rich organizes a wine country drive...

Regarding Laguna Seca... Is it possible for me to jump in too? Do I need any training, or can I just show up with a helmet and a car? If so, I'd be happy (thrilled) to join in. Is it the 20th of this month?

So if it's the 5th I could probably swing it and I'd bring my "1/2 928" out to play. I'll keep an eye on the thread.

Ron sent me a great route yesterday, that should keep us away from traffic for most of the time and end at Naphenty restaurant that overlooks the ocean. Souns like a lot of fun!

Golden Gate Lotus club is hosting the track day. All the spots were sold out last month so you won't be able to drive (if that's what you're asking). If you have a helmet, I can take you for some hot laps though.

If you want to get onto a track with your own car, why not try joining some of us at Thunderhill on 4/9? I wouldn't recommend Laguna Seca to a beginner. There's too much stuff to hit.
