Hmm....I'm off sun-monday??? Very tempting! Especially if the weather is nice!

Sundays are always good for me! (Except for this week).... Count me in for either date!!

On the same note, I am scoping out some "fun drive" roads in the east bay...once I actually drive them I'll post it!

How is your availablility on Sunday, February 26, or Sunday, March 5?

Would these days conflict with any major events I'm not aware of? I mean, events in the sense of a "superbowel", or a major event in the Monterey area.
Either day looks good for me.

26th or 5th works for me. Route ideas?

Joe, Nicole is the one that posted us but I can't imagine any of the local shark owners excluding *any* Porsche from the get-togethers... even if your lights only pop halfway up...

But he has half a shark engine already - with such a good start there is no way we can discriminate.... Besides: I love the 968, too!

Joe: Please DO join us for the drive when it happens! Just keep watching this thread until we reach a decision.

At this moment I'm inclined to move this to Sunday, March 5, with destination Monterey, Carmel, and maybe go as far as the Julia Pfeiffer Burns State park? (That''s the one with the waterfall that drops onto the beach)

Any objections to March 5? Who would be in, other than myself and those who already said they are available that day?

I just got back from a drive to Big Sur yesterday; we took the long way down to King City and then inland to Hwy 1, and up to Napenthe for lunch. Weather was perfect; not too hot or cool, and slightly cloudy. 350 miles of grins. I am a bit weary of that road now, but will recover shortly. I am free both of the other days so far. I need to go to Carmel sometime between the 13th and the 28th anyway to measure a house for a client. Maybe we could go the 26th and I could go down the night before to do my thing and meet up with you guys Sunday, the 26th in Carmel somewhere.

If not, the 5th would also work for me, as I will be going down there with some regularity until that project is finished, and could go down Saturday the 4th also and do the same plan.

I'd be up for that plan. I will refrain from undertaking complex organ transplants on my shark that weekend or the weekend before. That's why I missed yesterday's drive; it was either do the work this weekend or put it off till the 25th.

Nicole,

No big events in Feb.. I think the A1 GP is at Laguna in Early March, I'll check and let you know.. If the A1 GP is there that weekend, it would be a fun ride indeed. I will of course meet you guys down here in Carmel..

Hello 951_Obsession:

It looks like this one might be going towards the coast on March 5, but we can always do another one to the Wine country. In fact, that's something we should simply declare as the plan for the next one...

One Idea I had for Monterey was to do a collective whale watching tour - we might see dolphins and REAL sharks along the way. But I'm not sure, if they still have those tours around March. Would you guys be interested in whale watching, if it's still on?

Otherwise let's drive down Hiway 1 for a bit, maybe until the above mentioned State Park and back. We'd still have to scope out a route towards the coast. Some traffic will be unavoidable as we approach Monterey, but we can easily regroup at the Monterey marina's parking lot.

I'd love to go on a drive with everyone, Nicole. But since everyone else is bailing out on you, I guess I better bail too. The reason is it's too far for me to travel to meet everyone. Oh well, another time.

Count me in as 968 #2. I'll try to get dad to bring his 928 too! Any saturday or sunday works for me, I'll drop anything to swim with sharks.
