Default Dash cover options?

I've been looking at options for covering the dash on my 86.
Has anyone tried the leather cover from Jager? If so, how does it fit? Does it look OK, or somewhat out of place?

Are all the plastic covers created equal? Any tricks when using this option?

Thanks!

I am about to order a burgundy leather cover in the next two weeks for the Cassirot car.
I will respond when I see it.
All Jager's other stuff is good so I expect this will be also.

the leather cover is AWESOME, I don't have one in my car, but I've seen them up close and personal.. MUCH better than the carpet/cloth ones

No affilation here. I know one of our listers sent his dash down under to Austraila for a recover. From what I saw the results were quite nice. I believe the business owner moved to WA and opened shop there. I can't find the thread with the pics, but have a link to the business. Am considering having mine done pretty soon. This is not "Just Dashes" that some have had problems with.

A couple of weeks ago, I sent an inquiry to their shop in Washington (can't find the email at the moment). They declined to quote any 928 for recovering.

Does that mean they are refusing to do 928's? Here is a link to the thread about the dash that wa sent to Aus.

What about compared to the plastic overlay?
How does the pod cover look / fit?

The plastic cover does pretty well on the pod. The one that covers the dash will warp in about 30 minutes if you ever park the car in the sun. A temporary fix at best.

I have a guy in SoCal (Garden Grove) that did my dash and it came out great. I had them use pleather so that it wouldn't shrink and would age better. Actually, there were just a couple small wrinkles around the vents that would've stretched out if it WAS leather, but I used the jager 3M vent covers and took care of that minor problem. The shop is California Auto Upholstery and the owner is Jesse Sanchez.

IMHO there is but ONE good solution and that is a new dash/pod or MAYBE a professional recover.

I have leather dash cover from Jager and I like it. It fit's very nicely and looks factory.

the only problem with this is that they only make the air bag dash now
and currently there are ZERO in the US in black, now if you want grey-green it's ready and waiting to be shipped

I have a full set of dark brown sewn leather for recovering a dash, centre console and glove box. I don't need it, but I keep holding onto it because no-one that has approached me was willing to pay for it.

Scott I PM'ed you. this set is unobtainable these days anymore. It will make your dash and centre console look like factory leather. Glove box too.

ROMAN!! How have you been brother? So is it really a factory look or does it sit on top like a carpet/cover?
