Anyone with fuel smell w/no rear carpet and pump cover?
I have some of my interior out still including the rear carpet. The fiberglass fuel pump cover is no longer adhesived in place. I am getting a pretty strong smell of fuel in the car. Eventually I will get the carpet and the cover back in place but does this smell right, I mean sound right anyone?

I think that I have found a thread about this same problem. I might not have noticed it though w/out the carpet and cover off.

How much is this O-ring and line? Anyone have part #'s? Looks like I'll be making a phone call tomorrow for some more parts. The shopping list just keeps growing the more carpet/panels I pull out.
Maybe I should just stop.. Nope. Not how I roll..

Don't get excited, yet. You don't have a torque tube on your shopping list yet. But, no, there should not be any fuel smell in and around the car. This needs to be fixed ASAP before your shopping list really explodes.

Michael check for drill-holes at rear woofer location through the expansion bladder, and check for a leak in the overfill tube, and look for drill holes at rear deck, and check the seal at the fuel level sender.

I have looked for holes and I have not seen any that were obvious. I will take a harder look in the AM. I had also JUST filled up the tank when I noticed it. Then again I haven't really driven it since I started pulling the interior. What came first the chicken or the egg. There I go bringing up animals again..
I have filled the car though at other times and did not notice it. I'll make sure that I have it identified before I start messing with the battery and electrical back there working on the stereo.
I'll post up what I find, thanks everyone for the suggestions!

Took a minute or two to look things over and again did not see any holes in the rear deck. The plastic cap over the pump is warped and will not snap back in place w'out some effort and I am guessing that it won't stay there long.
Fuel pump cap was screwed tighter than I could budge by hand and the hoses are old and brittle, no visible leaks though. I did pop the fuel lid and unscrewed the cap. Not sure if some of the spaces that I am seeing are supposed to be there. I will take pics of everything and post them in a little bit. The fuel smell is stronger in the pump area than it is outside the car or at the fill cap.
