Default Latest 1/4 mile time slip

Hit the drags tonight.
Got a new best 12.80
Stock tires, pump gas as driven daily. Previous was 12.91

If i work at it I still have that .1 left on the table in my launch...had just a tad of spin, not much.
If i nail it to the nats **** im good for 2.0.... a sub 2sec would be ....but not easy.
Hooked up pretty good actually. I didnt have my Gtech with me but based on what ive done in the past it was atleast a 4.3-4.4 dash to 60mph...but thats just a guess.
I got my data logger fixed so i have it logged as well...more later.

Tony
Nice job! I do think with some air pressure changes you should be able to drop the 60ft time to under 2 seconds....my bone stock 88S4 did a 2.230 60 ft in 70 degree weather with just a floor it and go launch...no power braking... With some air pressure changes and a good power braking launch I'm sure I could drop it down more! You should list your times on dragtime.com Look here http://www.dragtimes.com/results.php...arch+DragTimes

Hi Tony,

Great job!!

>Let me know when you get to 12.5 in the 1/4.

I think he will be able to do that easily in a week or so.

I'm thinking a smaller pulley!

Or he can shed a couple hundred pounds or so and get her down to 12.5 easy enough. My hp and tq was almost spot on with Tony, and I was able to pull a 12.5, of course that was gtech timed so doesn't really count!

13.1 with a slightly higher trap speed. I had a 2.3 60ft on that run.
Spun..let up..and feathered it in again...this was with lower tire pressures as well...20psi.

The 12.8 was done with stock pressures. Tire pressures do help, but if its gonna let loose, its gonna let loose.

First run was lined up against a mid 80's T/A that had the turbo emblem on the rear bumper?? Its always fun to have a good race but its the clock and the lights that count.

What boost were you at for the 12.5 Shane.?
Ive thought about taking stuff out when i run, but i like hassle free approach of just showing up as the car is driven...soda bottles, amp, CDs, glove box stuff, tools etc etc included.
I rattled off a 5.1sec 0-60 in Darriens car yesterday with little effort....wheel spin, dust laden road and the 2 of us and stuff inside. His car is deceivingly fast...hes at 9-10psi now. Thanks to DR, im also getting the same size pulley next week It may be toooo much on the S4 as it breathes a bit different than the 86.5....not to mention my original head gaskets. 10psi is my limit for now...or so i say at least. The engine may say other wise. .

Highlight of the night was seeing, actaully hearing, a Turbo Viper run a 10.1. The thing sounded like it had a jet engine attatched to it, serioulsy. Amazing.
They really have a good program going here in Vegas with this "Mid Night Mayhem" series. This is the first one of the year...once..twice a month depending on the track schedule. Helps eliminate some of the street racing on local roads.
I saw a car with the number 330 on it at one point....330 cars!! 10 bucks to drive...5 to watch and be a passenger. ricers...trucks...vipers...vettes..bikes....minivans...sub 10sec cars and 15sec+ cars. I did 2 runs then just sat in the stand for 2 hrs...pretty entertaining. Biggest draw back is when you get that many cars the down time between runs can be long....the upside is we all sit in the staging lanes..hoods up BS'ing cars and stuff, good time really.
Your next Darien!

The gauge was saying 10-11psi, but that was the one that Andy later admitted to dropping!
When I installed the new gauge it said 7psi. I was running 403rwhp and 383rwtq. Plus my car was an early '86 with the small brakes and rotors (less unsprung weight) Also it was stripped of all the extras for the track, and I think I had about a 1/4 tank of gas at the time.

LOL, i see you're still having problems with your R/T.

Deep stage and go on the last set of yellows. If you wait till you see green you waited too long.
