How about bringing it to Tulsa, OK in March and setting up a display at the PCA's Cimarron Tech session. I'll have two cars there you can try it on.

Brian,

The other manufacturers are paying their own way and paying to display their wares. It could be a tough sell without on site (US) demonstrations.

The biggest hurdle is the waterless aspect of the product. Moving the dirt around with a chamois is worse than blasting it off with water in my eyes. MOre of the dirt is removed with the water which leaves less to be moved around when sponged. Love your enthusiasm but if Driwash hasn't caught on in this amount of time I suspect yours wont either. Most people don't care if a product is natural or not, just that it works. MOst like me wont't even try it because it goes against what we know. Respectfully just my opinion. Good luck with it!!

Dennis
Understand that. What I am trying to do at the moment is get this product known within the Rennlist community and then go on from there.
Much as I would like to come over again, was there in September, finances just do not allow it to happen. Plus I have a full time job as well.
If, and when, we get licensed distributers in the US then it will be their responsibility to show off the wares so to speak. Until then???????
Thanks

This is from the Driwash site : "Now you can have a just-detailed, showroom finish without messy hoses, buckets, cleaners or waxes! DRI WASH 'n GUARD® contains no silicones, Teflon or other ingredients harmful to your vehicles paint."

Not trying to undersell your product, just want to know the facts.
How $$ will you retail Magic Wash?
I'm personaly interested in a product that is not harmful to the enviroment.

There are other unique products under this banner that I am not even trying to push at the moment. More to come.

Depending on the car of course, about 150-200mls for a full wash.
I washed my daughters PT Cruiser, removing all the bugs and tar build up and used 170ml of Magic Wash.
We try and push the line that you wash the whole car first up and then, unless the car gets extremly dirty, just touch up areas of concern as required and when you have 30secs spare.

I am posting my results as asked by Brian (beeg) who was kind enough to send me a sample of "Magic Wash". For doing this, I was perfectly willing to see what this product would do either proving or disproving the claims.

I had just received the sample on Tuesday or Wednesday of this past week. I was not able to do anything with it until this morning. The first thing I did this morning was get a coffee and sit down and read the instructions. Nothing special, just pour the solution into a spray bottle which I had, do not dillute, get a damp chamois ( I used a micro fiber towel since I did not have a chamois), a clean towel and bucket of water. Not sure what the clean towel was for, maybe for wiping off any excess water and the bucket of water was for rinsing the chamois/MF towel. I felt it not necessary to do the whole or half of a car and felt that certain areas would be good enough for me to tell if this product does as Brian claims. The basics are to spray on and wipe off the area. Instructions state to use finger nail or wax for stubborn stains or stuck debris.

So my truck sits out in the elements everyday and had aquired some enviromental residue. I wax it 2 or 3 times a year and wash it around 6. It was not overly dirty, but could use a nice cleaning. I had performed the procedure as instructed in 3 different areas.

1) Side of truck where rain has left dark run off/drip marks on the side of the bed from tonneau cover.

Before application...

Application...

After wiping...

2 )Rear tail gate where all dirt collects on the back of a truck.

Before application...

Application....

After wiping...

3) Front wheel with lot's of brake dust.

Before application...

Application...

After wiping...

Results by areas:
1) cleaned the area but left the drip marks. Not as apparent, but if you look, they are certainly still there. In a regular washing application, they would probably remain as well. Just a wet rag would probably give all the same results. Most likely would need a paint cleaner or wax with cleaning agent.

2) Tail gates get dirt and grease from the road and the truck itself. The product cleaned it very well. Regular washing would do the same thing. Just wiping with a wet rag would smear the grease and wipe off most of the dirt.

3) Brake dust is a bitch. I was pleasantly surprised at how this stuff just cut through the dust and made it simple with just one wipe to clean the wheel. Regular washing would do it too, but I don't recall it being so easy to remove. Wet rag would get most off, but leave behind some dirt.

All in all, I would have to say that the product does what it claims. Would I use it as a substitute to a good wet washing?...probably not, because running water over an area that has been soaked with soap and water will clean deeper and will also clean areas that your hand or rag cannot get to IMHO. You wouldn't have to rinse the chamois/MF towel as often either. As a quick cleaning product (something like Mequires Quick Detailing) when the car just has a light dust on it or water spots, this would be a nice thing to have. Remember though, I did not do a lot of the truck and would have had to rinse the MF towel quite often. Also, the instructions DO say to hose off any areas that have mud caked on first. The product claims to be enviromentally safe. It has no strong smell and as it suggested, I tasted it (touched my finger to it and lick my finger), and it does not have any chemical taste.

Revolutionary product? ehhh, not as far as I know, but still a nice thing to have on hand for a quick clean. I don't really know much about products such as these as I always do a full cleaning when I do my cars. Hopefully some of the other guys who got samples will give their results.

Thank you for letting me try this Brian. I would have to say it works based on my results. Good Luck to you.

Anyone who posts a USMC link on his Aussy Navy webpage is OK by me.

Keith
Thanks for the honest assessment.
Probably not exactly the result as spectacular as I expected, but at least it worked for you.
Not quite sure what I said about a towel. I only use a towel for quickly wiping windows after washing. Or an old rag to wipe off the brakedust. Shall have to read them through again.
Sorry you did not have a chamois. I'm not quite sure how effective this stuff is when used with a microfibre towel. With a just damp chamois, you really do not get any waters marks or excess water left over.
Also, you are probably the first person to use this in a temp under 25C. We wondered what the effects of cold would be. Would appear that it takes slightly longer to dry naturally.
Hopefully the other testers will post all over the 'list within the next few days, including Porschephile 924 who is going to test in his detailing business. I'm sure he'll have a chamois! LOL
Thanks again mate for the results.

Chris
Not a prob with the link. The are sorta 1/2 Navy anyway!

Thanks for the writeup Keith, and for offering up your "test mule". I think I'll stick with a hose myself.
