Default 928 gathering in Denver Finally....

Well we are back to the original Dates June 23 thru the 25th..... Now cast in Stone....

Information on the what is planned will be available after the Holidays.....

You can loook forward to one of the nicest and curves rides you will ever go on ( Except for some of you coming from the West.....).

If you have never seen the true Porsche (Tractors) you will be in for a treat... you may even get to autocross one. And for those who won't be traveling to Germany anytime soon you can also see a replica of the first Porshe Factory and a Garage to die for...

Erik has also arranged for a tech session in one of the upscale garage's in the area.

We look forward to seeing you all here in Denver in 06'.

P.S. Tim and Cheryl , sorry this runs so close to your event, but we were constrained by the Gmund and when they came back from Christmas Island they realised they were going to Porsche Parade in Portland in August, and because of the time involved they had to switch G'mund back to June... According to George, There will be Porsche Factory people visiting and at the G.mund...

WOW Richard, THAT IS GREAT. I've had those dates reserved on my wife's and my calendars for a long time, so glad to hear the 928 OCIC of '06 is now cast in stone. I look forward to a great meeting, and some fun touring of CO with my wife in June.
THANK YOU for all you've done, and for all you will be doing to make this a reality.
Cheers and Merry Christmas,

Hmmm... So we'd leave Lake Tahoe from Sharks at the Lake on Sunday the 18th, and drive past it again on the following Wednesday or Thursday... It's hardly worth returning to the Bay Area inbetween.

I wonder, if a 10-day vacation is on order; maybe with stops in Reno and Salt Lake City? That could be a lot of fun, if time permits.

Oh, I guess I'll just have to retire. This is beginning to crowd my schedule, and Nicole has the right idea. Make a full month of it. Last year I did that with the Grand Prix and the Porsche Parade. This year I will be in Hawaii the week of the 7th to the 12th, and then to SITL the following weekend. Why not just keep on going across country and play Route 66 for the whole month? For the younguns in this crowd: some of us grew up watching Rte. 66 on the tube and got the wanderlust from it.

Ron: I didn't think there was anyone else on the board who would admit to being old enough to have watched Route 66 as a kid. How about the Kate Smith Show? Howdy Doodie Show? Flash Gordon? Sky King? I bet I've got you there. Sorry for the OT.

I had planned to make the CO meet, but it will be tough right after SATL for us West Coasters. I do have a fair amount of accumulated vacation to take, so it's still a possibility. I do want to be there and will try.

Well, I'm STILL a kid. How about Cecil the seasick sea serpent? Remember the Hit Parade? Hey I remember when there was NO television.

SERIOUS OT...
Hit Parade - Lucky Strike dancing cigarette boxes? Oh, yeah. Cecil? I was in high school and was watching more sophisticated stuff like the Steve Allen show. However, I watched the original puppet show, Time for Beany (and Cecil), that started in 1950...

No contest. I will win easily. With that, I apologize and say, "Now, back to the original programming."

Sure, I remember beanie and cecil, Gigantor, and astro boy. No, I wasn't around for the original puppet show....

I was gonna go to the OCIC event. Then someone posted conflicts with the SATL event, so I looked it up. The Sunday before, hahh? ....Could I make it out there from Ohio, in a day and a half? Then, have a few days to go see Mom, show Keith Widom Rosy, and eventually cruise out to the event? Realistically, no way. Be great to make the try, But I know it couldn't legally be done. Not unless I had a co-pilot, tag teaming with me on driving the true, complete day and a half.
So, I'll just commit to being to the OCIC event, with time enough on each end to making it on time.
And I will say this much, not trying to take anyone away from the SATL event. I believe this SATL event happens "every" year, right? How often will you be able to attend an OCIC event? Granted, the OCIC event is intended to "float". And when they do happen, how much of a chance will you have to attend? The last OCIC event was in Wichita, this one in Denver, 1600 miles further west. ( according to Mapquest ) Wichita was an absolute BLAST! Met quite a few people and their sharks, and attended a HUGE car show, where the sharks got their own article in the paper. YES, Tahoe is a beautiful setting, I've been there. I've driven California back roads. None in Colorado. I hope someone at this OCIC event has a drive sceduled for this event as well, somewhere SWOOPY!!!!!

Yes, Brett, I already worry the next 928OC IC will be in Kentucky or somewhere in that vincity. That would be too far for me, unfortunately. Or maybe it will be in Dallas? Michigan? Indianapolis? I'm sure next time it'll be easier on the East Coasters...

Yup, the drive will be among the most scenic Colorado has to offer. And there is a notable destination, but I'm not sure I'm at liberty to divulge it. And the Gmund event - wow. This guy built a full-size, historically accurate replica of the original factory in Gmund where the 356's were hatched. It garnered the attention of Porsche AG and PCNA and the reps come to the event every year. I'll see if I can find a picture of a past event and post it. It is held every other year and includes a wash-n-shine concours, Porsche tractor autocross, and other fun stuff. I live 10 minutes from the place. You'll want to come to this. Trust me.

So Richard/anyone,
Just so I'm clear on this; everything takes place, within those three days, correct? Or do I need to be there a day or two before?

Brett,

I can't speak for the OCIC planners, but from past experience can say that all the major events are scheduled for a Friday evening arrival - Saturday main event(s) - Sunday AM event with departure Sunday as you wish. If there are other events, they are optional in nature.

I'm guessing that ALL of your problems are fixed and Rosy is Rosy again - glad to hear that and will see you there!
