Hi Tony,
WOW, that is COOL!!
I don't know if everyone has seen Saleen's new "upside down" Twin Screw 2 Stage Intercooled Kit for Ford 4.6 engines. It is a VERY impressive design and is similar to what I am planning to do for the 16v Twin Screw Kits. I just talked with them yesterday and they are also making one just like it for my F-150 5.4 engine to be released later this year... Jeannie said I may have one under the tree this Christmas, if I am a "good boy" :-)

That would be Christmas 2006 :-(
Saleen isn't going to introduce their new Twin Screwed F-150 "Thunder" truck until July and then release the SC kit separately a little later so I have a little time to be "Good" :-)

Tony, DR,
Nice shots of the SC components...
The whipple chargers are twin screws? or roots...
One has 3 lobes one has 5 and thus they are not geared 1 to 1.
That is amazing that someone designed this... almost mind boggling...
Are the autorotors the same style internally...
Thanks,
LO

Whipple/Autorotor
Whipple Superchargers is owned and operated by it’s founder Art Whipple and is located in Fresno, CA. Founder and president Art Whipple has always been regarded as a true innovator and enjoyed a very successful racing career as crew chief and owner of Top Fuel Funny Cars and Dragsters, as well as many other forms of racing such as circle and drag boats.
While owning and tuning the famed Revelloution Top Fuel Funny Car, Art and driver Ed “The Ace” McCulloch won the 1970 NHRA US Nationals and NHRA 1971 Winter Nationals. Art later retired from racing to start a family but quickly found himself again tuning for his father in-law, Ed Wills which fielded Top Fuel Funny Cars and Top Fuel Hydro boats under the famed “Mr. Ed” and “Whipple & Mr. Ed” banners.
In 1987, Art Whipple got the performance bug again and decided to get back into the performance industry with some new technology. After countless hours of research, Art found a company located in Australia named Sprintex. Whipple quickly adapted their unique “twin-screw” supercharger to his own personal 1988 Chevrolet Silverado. Within a few months, Whipple Superchargers became the exclusive distributor of the Sprintex Supercharger.
In 1991, Whipple Superchargers found a Swedish company named Opcon Autorotor. Until this time, Sprintex was the only manufacturer of the twin-screw type supercharger, but Autorotor, a sister company of the pioneering company Svenska Rotor Maskiner (SRM) had a larger variety of sizes to choose from and later generation rotor technology. By this time, the screw compressor had become commonly known as the “Whipple Charger” and quickly became a must have item for performance enthusiasts.
After Autorotor and SRM split, Whipple decided to stay with SRM and their newly formed company Lysholm Technologies. This relationship worked out very well and led to many successful twin-screw applications. With the partnership of Eaton Corporation, the Lysholm compressor made tremendous strides in dependability and performance. In 2004, the Lysholm/Eaton screw compressor was utilized on the Ford GT super car and Mercury Racing High Performance engines, a first for Lysholm.
With Whipple Superchargers extensive knowledge, technology and years of experience, Whipple developed an entirely new supercharger lineup that featured all of the latest technology in rotor profile, housing, rotor coating and bearing design to once again, revolutionize the twin-screw supercharger market. As the pioneer of the screw compressor market, Whipple’s dedication to innovative thinking, hard work, attention to detail and outstanding product performance has led to a better, American made product for the performance industry.
