Is it one of the newer style X pipes? I'll take it.

Sab.

Woody,

Did you have your AF mixture on your dyno sheet?

I read a few years ago that Whipples were originally made by Opcon, then were made under license in the US. This was back when you could buy perfectly good Eaton M112s on ebay for under $150 any day. I should have bought a few.

Ahh, you edited. I didn't see anything about Whipple on the link you first had. I guess I got confused between Lysholm/SRM and Autorotor/Opcon.

Sab,
It was one of the ones he did before taking some time off, I don't know what has changed. I have welded an extra bung in for tuning. They will be available next month after my new system is built.

Jim,
I think so, I will look. If not, I can still get the file from the dyno shop. I may stop by this week and have all my runs downloaded just for safe keeping.

Later, Woody

Woody,

If Sab does not take the x-pipe, I'll take it.

And I'd be interested in the RMB.

Did this topic break a record on number of views? It certainly has high interest! What's that tell us? Many of us want more bolt-on horsepower for our 928s!! But we're waiting for the success stories to roll in and to view the "sifting out" of the best appliance and to see what happens to our drive trains with this added HP.

The Centrifugal Kits are fully sorted out after 4+ years in the field and on contiguous manufacturer and almost 40 Porsche 928 Installs. Both the 32v and the 16v manuals have been re-written twice, the kits have been re-engineered and tweaked for easier installation and more HP.

The CS kits we sell continue to be simpler to install, and produce more HP, than their twin-screw counterparts. And there are NO reports of any 928 with one of our kits ever going into "limp-home" mode because the EGT sensors detected off-spec temps.

The 928s supercharged by Centrifugal Kits out-number the 928s supercharged by twin screw kits, I think. Andy was always tight with his numbers, and with the kits that were returned to him (some after they were installed) and resold kits that changed hands, its hard to know for sure.

But, I can point out that there are few CS posts on the forum, and no equivelant to "The Twin Screw Thread" for Centrifugal cars. That is because they ARE sorted out, and fully supported by their manufacturers, who are still in business.

Don't get me wrong... when I saw this thread at first, I thought it was a very smart idea. There are 928 owners left with "unfinished business" and loose ends to tie up since their manufacturer closed up shop. Plus, they can help support each other to finish and tweak the design. Its all good.

Hughett, this IS a long thread with many posts. Is it because there is so much interest in twin-screw? Or is it because there are so many questions and issues with twin-screw?

I wouldn't mind adding one of these bad boys to the stable.

Why would you do that when the CS kit for the 928 has produced more than 500 HP instead? Why settle?
