Default Sharktoberfest 2005 DVD

Thanks to Keith Widom and others for the kudos on the DVD compilation for Sharktoberfest 2005. If it wasn't for Keith's input and gathering of the source material, it wouldn't have happened at all!

The DVD was prepared solely for the intention of background visuals and music at the Sharktoberfest 2005 Friday night reception, so there is no production audio from any of the videos.

Several people and sources contributed the material for this compilation which includes various 928 related video of racing, performance upgrades, factory, showroom walk around, 928 owner gatherings including Devek 2003, Sharktoberfest 2003 and 2004, and still pictures from Sharktoberfest 2003, 2004, and Devek 2005, and more. Again, the video does not contain audio from the original videos, but is set to a background of a mixed compilation of music. The total length of the DVD is 2:59:59; 2:35:00 is video and 0:24:59 is still pictures. This is over 7 gigabytes of material.

Because of many requests, I will make an offer to provide a copy of the Sharktoberfest 2005 DVD for $15.00, which solely covers the cost of a blank disc, printing, and shipping. NO PROFIT whatsoever will be made from this SERVICE of making and shipping this DVD.

If you are interested in receiving a copy, please contact me via email with your address (no P.O. boxes) and a telephone number. I will send instructions for reimbursement payment and will ship when payment is received.

PLEASE TYPE with the specific subject of (please copy and paste):

...in the subject field.

Then click this link (if your computer is set to access your email program) and/or Email: 44one@att.net

Thank you.

JOE!

I received the DVD today. WOW!

I think anyone would like this DVD. You did a fabulous job! I really like the way you used the Porsche ad video, the Holbert clips and other clips to build an intro to the meet video. Great soundtrack! Then there are a whole bunch of other 928 videos you edited in that I have never seen before. Again, great job!

I encourage people to buy this. Well worth it.

Bill,

Thank you very much for the comments. I can't believe you actually viewed the entire three hours! I guess it's not that hard when the subject matter is so easy on the eyes, and I'm not just talking about the opening cut! Perhaps next year's DVD will include some of your recent adventures?!?!?!?

Now I really can't wait to receive my copy! 3 hours? That'll save at least one movie ticket...

Yes, I've been through about the first 5 chapters. Great background stuff! Too bad some of the stuff couldn't have the original audio on a 2nd audio track, but that would have no doubt made a monumental task into an insurmountable one...

It is VERY nice work! I am still amazed by the load of footage I dumped in Joe's lap and just said "Have at it!" I saw it for the first time at SF05, but only bits and pieces. I did notice the pro production of it while I was chatting with everyone. There were 2 TV screens and I know many at the reception Friday night were gathered around the 35" screen. Heck, even the hotel staff was watching! I managed to get through most of it last month, but DAYAM, Joe packed A LOT of 928 stuff on there. HA...and I KNOW there was lot's of footage left over!

Big thanks to everyone who has commented on the Sharktoberfest 2005 DVD! I'm glad you all seem to be enjoying it. There are definitely things I would have liked to have done with the project, but the object was to have background music and video for the welcome party. Heck, I spent hours testing different compression settings just to get the pictures at the end looking their best, while still fitting everything under 8 gigabytes!

I know many people responded with interest, but I haven't heard back from a few after the initial emails. I'll make the DVD available as long as people want them, so just email if you'd like a copy. Please look at the first post in this thread for specific information.

Let me take this opportunity to wish all my fellow 928ers a Happy Holiday Season and a Very Merry New Year!
