I like my current covers. From a distance, the car looks stock.
New critter guards on the bumper.
I tried installing the extra lights as turn signals, pointing up. They were super bright - if you were above the car! With the HIDs on, you can't see any colors near it. So I'm using them as parking lights.
I'm debating using painted aluminum for the tray, or opaque acrylic, lighted from below, as a big parking light.
ken, is there any difference between the hella light that is made for hid and the one that has the H7 bulb, in terms of the actual lens? im looking at doing something like what you have (only leaving the light uncovered) and am trying to avoid paying for the hella HID light..
I read somewhere that the reflector on the larger projector I tried (H9 bulb) was different for the HID. I don't know about the reflector on the smaller 50mm units. The reflector is quite small, anyway.
I didn't notice any weird light spots, or glare with the HID H7 conversion. IE. it's not overpowering the optics. The cutoff is sharp (and a cool color too).
The H7 bulb light output is lackluster in the 50mm. They are really made for HID.
The pic from Barry Johnson looks great..contoured..and fits the style of the car..IE kit looking...everything else so far...is furking putrid in my opinion...does anyone really think any of this is better looking than stock?...geesh for all the hassle...why not buy on of the big 3's hid kits which are plug and play..*shrugging shoulders*...maybe I am missing something...
