See, from a distance, critter wire ain't so bad.
Looking at the pic, I'm thinking I'll cover the lamp housing too, and only have the face showing...

porken, next batch of headlight covers have to have that bottom lip taken out so theyare not stepped. i like all the rest including the lamp housing being visible, the 'critter' wire cracks me up!

I still think it could look awesome to have the entire headlight indentation covered in the style of so many modern sportscars. Then you could do body colour or black vacuformed base and allow only the light lenses visibility.

Ahhhh, Heinrich, my trekkie friend, you crack me up!
I think you are referring to the Neural-Neutralizer from the "Dagger of the Mind" episode. Click this link, under video, click "Neural-Neutralizer":

"You're madly in love with your 928, Heinrich. You'd lie, cheat, steal for her, sacrifice your career, your reputation . . ."
Too funny!!!

Why do I keep envisioning carbon fiber base.

New sturdier brackets, with higher mounting. I just have to have a friend TIG aluminum brackets for me for the final.
The light output/fill is very good, with very little cutoff from the fender.
I blurred the bumper holes in this pic.
The tray can be simpler than I thought. It can be installed flat under the cover. Sheet carbon fiber could be cool.
The silver tape acts as the fender glare cutoff.

Barry,
That's a great pic. I think that's polished aluminum bent 'round the light; looks pretty good.
I would imagine that it would have the same problem I do where the front of the fender is higher than the bottom of the headlight, so there's an upward reflection. This is OK on a race car, but as Nicole pointed out, in fog or heavy rain it might be a problem.
I'm starting to think about making the bracket and tray from one piece of aluminum sheet, and painting the tray body color.

Porken, could you use some polarized film on the inside of the lense to help direct the light outward, and not upward if you used a metal reflector/trim piece?
