You are missing the 20+lb weight savings from the very front of the car.

Aside from the weight savings it's simpler, has less things to go wrong and there are no pie-plates acting as parachutes. I would love to have non pop-up lighting in my 928. So what's the latest on this? Is there a hot setup yet?

Mike,

Club autosport is probably the easiest way to do the conversion. Strosek also sells a conversion kit, but they are much more difficult to deal with.

Yep, another reason (among many) I did this to my race car is because my motor was toast. I have Ken's old brackets; the only thing I am doing differently is the way I am mounting my small LED turn signal.

I have all the contact information to get the strosek parts from when i tried to organize the group buy last year. Pricing info still posted at: www.aetperformance.com/strosek

I will be placing a personal order in the next month or so, so pm me if you want the headlights, and you can toss them in my crate.

I like the pop-ups on my '86. On my '81, it's all about the weight, and simplicity. Add this:

btw, are those US$ prices still close? they're about 13 months old...

OK..so..again...what am I missing?...you save 20lbs from the front of the car...its not unsprung weight...Correct?...20lbs is really no gain of anything...any test you do...IE dyno or track will show no difference in a before and after..and they are still fugly....

I dis-respectfully dis-agree (I dis thee).

From the sides, with the formed acrylic covers I had made, it looks as if stock with 8" H4s, BTW.

20lbs net (headlight system w/8" H4s is 26 lbs) is a lot of weight when you take it off the polar ends of the car. Remove the aluminum bumpers and the car handles like a go-kart.

It's difficult to find anything to delete from the front of a 928, and if you want to get below 3000lbs, it's all got to go.

Yeah...like telling Rosie O'Donnell to lose 20lbs off her polar end...so she might look better..or even move better in that dress...*L*...ain't gonna make much difference..It is what it is....I will admit from a distance...they look bearable...

Has anyone seen how the Stroseks work at night? Are they high enough on the car and have a proper light path? The pictures look like the bulbs are hiding in a tunnel.
Porken, are you satisfied with your setup? Is there anything you would do differently? Do you think it would be beneficial to cut the lip inside of the fender opening to get the bulb to sit a little higher?
Personally, I'd just like simpler, lighter and effective lighting and don't care what it looks like on the car. If something is designed well, that in itself becomes beauty.
