Wow. Speechless. Well, not really. Can you go into more detail as to how they did the metal to fiber transision? I understand the gluing issue, and how its very close - but now you have no seam at all.

I didn't. I had some garden pond liner material I used and cut pads from that. It is about 1mm thick black rubbery stuff. I think it wil be ok. You can't see it with the spoiler on.

Right on Louie!
I am in no rush as the Cabrio just sits and waits. I have no idea as to when I will actually get to this project. I am almost certain you will complete the front flares before then.

Adam Birnbaum posted some pics back on page one of this thread showing some of the prep work prior to the bonding process. They are here if you don't want to page back.

The fenders are layed up with a different amount of layers depending on the needs of that area. In the wheel cutout edge there is a band of more layers so it is about 1/4" thick. As the part gets close to where it will be bonded the cross section is tapered so at the outer edge of the bond it is only about 2mm thick. A couple inches back from the edge it is about 3 - 4 mm thick. The top edge of the fender is just below where the body begins to be more vertical as it curves from the rear quarter window first outward a little, then more vertically downward. I further feathered the edge of the fender slightly so there was not much filling to be done and it blended in perfectly. I made the edge of the fender to be placed where blending in would be easiest. The lap seam is 1.5" to 1.75" wide so there is plenty of area to work with. Is this the info you wanted?

Will these blend well into a pre s4 rear bumper cover? I really didn't like them when I first saw them. But that was because of the screws. Now that they have been blended they look great. Especially from the back. I'm still undecided about the rounded wheel openings but I'm sure they will grow on me. Great work.
