Speaking of mirrors, I remember when most cars came with only one. The only cars with 2 mirrors were people who pulled a trailer of something.

But now days I can't find any cars with only 1 mirror. When did this happen? Is it now the law that you have to have 2?

Victor I won't drive without a passenger mirror and in fact, I prefer wide angle inserts on both sides too. I like to see where I am and where the other cars are around me

I prefer the look of the early 928's with no passenger mirror (optional). I religiously turn my head for a lane change, in either direction, and never use, or trust, the other side mirror.

Any mirror would weigh less than the flag mirror bricks! Ounces versus pounds.

The problem with the Celica mirror you posted, is that 90% of new car mirrors mount to the window area, not to the body, so they have completely different mounting hardware, etc...

So you need to track down a mirror that mounts to the body.
And those are usually found on convertibles.

The Miata just ended up being the cheapest.

But Z3 mirrors will work, as well as some Audi, and Corvette, etc...

RacerPartsWholesale carries them too.

Default Changed my mind... going a diferent route!

On November 7th, I'm getting two cameras (the size of a lipstick) installed on the A-Pillars with two drop down screens that will be at the upper window corners!

Transportation Electronics who did my DVD-NAV system will install it... should have pictures for you by the 9th!

I'll have rear view mirrors deleted in December.

With the savings of a few pounds and less wind restriction, I should be able to save a gallon of gas every 50,000 miles which wil offset the costs.

Actually, the mirrors add a lot of drag (even the aero mirrors, there's not much difference between them). You should see savings of a few % depending on how you drive.

I look forward to seeing the camera installation. I was researching lipstick cameras, and small screens, or a 3 section monitor (sides, back).

What's the legality of electronic mirrors?

Pretty much I drive like this: Green Light 80-100% till 5 MPH over speed limit then hold.

I just won in a raffle professional race driving lessons.... may drive different after I actually LEARN how to drive!

The 1995-98 Olds Aurora is a very good fit. The door angle is perfect, the look is similar to a newer Porsche mirror. The base covers two of the three old mounting holes, ( I filled the upper hole with epoxy putty and spot putty) The lens is a bit larger than the Porsche mirror. And the price for a pair about $400 less. I put them on a race car and can post a picture later.

Legality of Video Rear View: Not sure except many hot rods have no mirrors at all... that's not an answer, just an observation.

I can't stand not having a passenger side mirror myself. Sometimes that's the only way you can see any appreciable distance behind yo and sometimes you REALLY need to be able to do so...
