928turbosport kit will start at 5k including a fully polished exhaust. How is that considered a boat-load of money by comparison? HP in SC & Turbo cars is a matter of boost assuming a reasonable degree of efficiency. 500rwhp is a factory of boost, intercooling & tuning. Very easy to turn up the boost with proper consideration to fuel, heat, clutch.

If it's that easy then I am surprised you don't have a 500 rwhp dyno to show for it.
None of the SC guys get free passes, in fact they would be hammered if they were claiming to have a sytem that would produce 115hp more than what they have proven.

I hope not. This is a thread about the SC systems. The turbo guys jump into these with minimal history and promote their systems. If the turbo systems evolve and make sense I will be interested in one but they are first generation systems (on the Sharks) and Murf and DR's systems have most all of the issues worked out and dyno sheets to prove it.
IMO the turbo systems have some proving to do where as the SC systems have pretty much btdt.

The kenne bells stuff does produce great power results on the mustangs.

Jim - do you have your dyno chart from that 467 run? I do believe that is the highest posted fo rthe twin screws. That was at 7psi? What was the power like above 4k? Where WAS that 467 hp?

I'll be sure to be one that posts tons of info when my ongoing project is done. It will have nothingt o do with a stock 928 motor + boost, but it will be fun to post the charts and let the flames start.

Already we have one person saying that another's offering is flawed... All have their upsides and downsides. For example, if you live in a region where smog inspections are required every two years, CS is probably easiest to R&R, TS a close second(or maybe a tie)... how long would it take to go to smog legal & back with a turbo? A bit longer, I'm guessing. That's only one of several factors, all of which will be considered to be of varying importance by different people.

Bottom line, more HP=good, why can't we all get along?

Ok, how about a CS being used to spool up a big turbo which feeds a twin screw just to make everyone happy?

Sharkskin, I am not saying any 1 is better than any other. I am saying the SC's have much more drive time on them and dyno sheets to back up the claims of the builders.

Brendan,
Here is the sheet. Power was incredible throughout. I had an SMT that I never got installed and absolutely minimal tuning.

Maybe there should be some sort of Boosted 928 shootout at a neutral location.

There is no doubt about precisely when folks began racing each other in automobiles.
It was the day they built the second automobile.

Since you're unaware, I started the whole SC system back in '98. Tim Murphy USED to converse with me on perfecting the prototype kit I once had on my red car. Now, he's taken it to another level (good for him), though I've driven enough SC systems not to want another, regardless of power.

I wanted turbo system, I finally designed & built a universal kit. The SC kits have had 6 years to grow: the turbo 32v has had 1 month> Give it some time! As I did before, my kit will not be an extremely aggressive kit off the bat: there will be room to grow it as $ supports. As most everyone knows, '85-86 cars are the hardest to intercool, & that's my current hurdle.

Come to Austin so I can give you a ride. (that goes for anyone else in the central-Texas area). The turbo is downright FUN. I'm very excited about it & happy to let others test drive it. Bill will be the first it appears. Joe??

We can still get along though.... I'm off to Sharktoberfest where there will be ample proof of that, I'm sure....

I will be available at the 928 Motorsports booth at Sharktoberfest and happy to discuss the pros and cons of different boost options for the 928. Stop by the booth and lets talk!
