Insurance Recommendations, please!
OK, so with the anticipated purchase of the 91 GT, I called Hagerty Ins. I've been a member for 6 years with no loss claims. But unfortunately, I'm now in a different class - exotic - not collector. So they asked me how many mile do I put on the car. I told them about 5k. They said that's too high - 3500 would be more appropriate, but after I explaind to them that 2 car events would easily add 2k to 3k miles, they said they would re-evaluate it and let me know. pft! Next!
I searched the archives, but didn't see anything very recent, so I was wondering what insurance companies you guys use (especially you S4, GT, and GTS guys) and what kind of premiums you pay.
I'd like to go with with an agreed value policy. I'm willing to have a high deductible, maybe even just limited liability.
Thanks.

I have State Farm. No exotic vs. collector issue. Just one of the family vehicles. Cheap. About $250/year for max liability (supplemented by an umbrella policy). I do not carry collision/comprehensive by choice as my view is that insurance (in general) is best used for catastrophic events only, not for buying or repairing $15K cars.

I have mercury insurance...I list the 928 as a "pleasure" or third vehicle since we have two drivers...I tell them I drive only 2500 miles a year to get a cheaper rate, but they don't check it! Full coverage costs me just about $20 a month for 100-300K coverage with an agreed replacement value of $14K (less than I wanted but good enough).

Andrew,
I've had three different carriers on my 928 in the past year. I had the best rates with Progressive, but the office I was working with was, well hard to work with. Full coverage/collision insurance was about $1200/year, and dropped a bit when adjusted for winter storage. I think I'm at about the same now with AAA, three cars, and one 2pt ticket (oh, that's right, that should be dropping off in Oct. Yeah!)

Hagerty just called me back and offered me $15,000 full covereage (100/300/100) with $1000 deductible for $387/year. I can call them and have it added when I do the transaction. I think I'll still shop around, but at least, I'm covered for the trip coming back.

I have Hagerty on my 1981, too and pay about $206/Year. Mine is not a daily driver. Granted, a 91 GT is a bit more sophisticated than my OB, but, they're in Michigan and I'm in Louisiana; so checking the actual mileage may be somewhat of a challenge. However, if and when you have a claim, if you've exceeded it, that may cause a problem.
Good Luck!

98 Honda Passport + 86.5 Porsche 928, full coverage, minimal deductable ($250), with full roadside assistance, etc, about $1,200 a year. Goes down in the winter when I go down to partial coverage.
Geico. Yup, Geico.

Gieco insurance. 100/300 with $500 deductable. 10,000 per year mileage. Full coverage including theft $380.00 a year. Agreed replacement up to $15,000. They don't care what year 928 and they don't view it as a sports car. It's just another car to them. Of course the more vehicles you insure with them the more your premiums drop. I have 5 vehicles, including a travel trailer, with them and my total combined insurance bill per year in under $1400.00.

[Them] "Would you use it to run daily errands?"
[Me] "Well of course I'd never use it to run errands..."

I use Safe Auto.
All the classic car issues should be irrelevant to you because for most states a classic car has to be 20 years old.
