Yes, that rear wing is the "S5" or "GTR" rear wing and we do sell it on our website.
It is here: http://www.928motorsports.com/parts/wings.php

I can still get the Fibreglass hatch - here it is:
http://www.928motorsports.com/parts/sporthatch.php
Olivier Jaquemond makes them for us - but they are quite expensive owing to the fact that they have two finished sides (both the interior and exterior are finished) and then they are "welded" together. The tempered glass window is supplied and installed, also.
I do not use this on my race car because my rules state that the exterior body panels must all be from the Manufacturer and that the car must retain the appearance of the original model. They let fender flares slide, but thats about all.

I think the blue car hatch is all fiberglass, including the frame.
I like the mid-engined look, like the Jacmond, but I would like the rear window to be directly behind the fronts seats, IE. back seats deleted.

Idea on interior tar insulation removal: Get a bunch of dry ice. Scatter it around the floor and tub. Once it really freezes the floor, bang the floor with a hammer. The insulation will shatter and you can pick up the pieces. This is from my nephew who worked for At-Speed when they fielded the Volvo S60R in Speed World Challenge.

The rear tow hooks are better on the bottom attached to the lower strut cross bolt.
The front tow hook isn't a problem - its not in the bumper. Still, you can save 2+ pounds by using a tow strap rather than a tow hook.

Thanks for posting the pictures, Carl.
A couple of questions:
Do those tow methods meet the requirement of PCA and SCCA rules?
And do you think pulling the car from the lower strut bolt has an effect on the suspension? Alignment settings..or?
Every time I have towed a 928 I have put it on the trailer rear end first, so I am really wondering if pulling the car up on a trailer with that rear tow hook attached to the lower strut would hurt or effect anything.

Abby - it doesn't seem to hurt a thing, not only myself but many of us racers have been using it for years. I closely measure and know what my rear suspension settings are and they have never changed as a result of the tow hook located there. Also, this is a favorite spot to tie-down the rear of the car when flat hauling on a trailer. Does less harm than the bumper-mounted hook, which should not be used to lash a 928 down, should only be used for a straight pull.

I did do the swiss cheese, but then stopped before I was satisfied and put the bumper on to test the Euro bumper pipes, which are a 1/3rd of the weight of the USA ones. No shock, but it holds up the bumper. Saving weight off the very front of the car was what I was shooting for. I did not have a chance to weigh, but if I do, I will post back here.

Vibration damper and battery
Couple of q's on this thread:
1. Has anyone run a 928 without the engine vibration damper or with a lighter one?
2. I think it was Mark K that mentioned a battery weighing 14lbs - please can someone post the full details?
cheers
