I was just thinking of trying to meet the legendary Proffessor. North Oregon is south of Central Washington right?

Jim:

How often do you successfully resist the urge to turn the knife? DR said he had no dog in this hunt. Please think about it.

Where the hell was I when this thread came up? I just got done reading all the posts. What a cluster!

The only thing I can say is that this is not a Devek-only attribute. DR has had his own issues with his x-pipe that he annouced back in June. I place my pre-order, was charged, and still no pipe. I'm okay with it thoguh becayse I know I'll order enough crap from him to make up for it.

Almost any entrepreneurial venture take twice as long to develop and ends up costing twice as much. Marc, DR, et al. should allow a little wiggle room when they annouce their new products unless they already have the product landed and know the final cost. It appears that Quick Carl follows this practice and is doing quite well as a result.

Failure to communicate with your customer... well that's just plain suicide.

Hi Andrew,

>DR has had his own issues with his x-pipe that he annouced back in June.
> I place my pre-order, was charged, and still no pipe.

FYI, you have not been charged to my knowledge, we NEVER, NEVER, NEVER charge Credit Cards until items actually ship!!!!! The only way anyone is ever charged in advance is if they use Paypal thru the website and we do not have control over that.

If there has been an error and you were charged PLEASE contact Jeanie or I ASAP and we will credit your card.

Hi Andrew,

I just checked with Jeannie and after scouring your records you were indeed accidently charged for the Crossover because it was not "zeroed out" on a $1700 order you placed. You have my sincere apologies for the mistake and your Credit Card is being credited for the Crossover as I type.

BTW, I have some news concerning those hopefully in the next few days and those that have waited for them will get a nice surprise when they finally arrive.

My feeling, if not clear, is that vendors taking swipes at each other here is very, very poor form, unprofessional, etc, regardless of what any one other vendor may have done in their eyes. It's better judgement to take the high road and leave the other vendors alone. DR seems to understand that. I've seen too many times what happens when other vendors don't. Complete chaos that ends up poisoning the message board, takes people who otherwise get along and divides them into camps in a partisan debate. All because the vendors are competitive. They are representing companies and not personal opinions, as indicated in their sigs. One vendor playing on the misfortunes of another can only be interpreted as self-promotion at the expense of another. If that is OK, why not just have the vendors post a good list of why all the other vendors stink?

Go ahead and self-promote with good products and service, but to make remarks like this, even if it is to throw someone's words in their face out of context (equating private sale of a car to a group buy), or make other snide remarks, is a bad idea and shouldn't be encouraged no matter which side of the vendor fence you are on. It's juvenile and unprofessonal. I guess I'm just too old for this.

OK, someone pointed out how the last line in my harrange and the burnout in my sig don't exactly jibe. I'll admit consistency is not one of my strong points. Ern, I'd rather be on a high horse.
