I tried to trade Lorelei for a GTS earlier this year and got my head bitten off (not by Lorelei). So I'm guessing trading for a motor would be just as bad?

John....would that motor you have for sale drop into my 87 auto?.....i've either got rod bearing material in my oil filter or thrust bearing problems....not sure yet but if the block is pooched, your engine sounds interesting.

that sounds interesting, but i think retrofiting the "U" to the Ljet type , getting rid of the CIS, and then using the MAF from your 87 word work. the only issue would be (and there would still be a lot of them , would be injectors, but maybe you could fit those in the US euro runners. wow, lots of differnces.

nahhhh, just pull it and fix it.

I think he would want something a bit more tame/streetable than this anyway? I could be wrong.

Sure it would drop in, but then the real work would begin!
I wouldn't do it.
Get a used short block, change the bearings, swap the heads/intake and drive on

HI,

Is that the correct dyno link ????

My UK spec 4.7 S2 was on a dyno last Sunday and got more bhp than that graph ???

All the best Brett

The dyno chart is a corrected rear wheel HP on a dynojet.

You UK spec. 4.7 S2 was 310 crankshaft hp. If your getting a 310HP rear wheel number, then it is far from stock.

Hi,

My rwhp was 284.6 corrected by 7% to 306 at CRANK.(auto)

I still dont quite see how you get 360 bhp from 305 rwhp ?? Are you saying you have a 55 bhp transmission loss, between Crank and wheels ? Is this a manual or auto ?

Or do american dynos work differently ?

All the best Brett

360hp X .85= 306HP

It is very common to use a 15% lost from a manual drivetrain to get to the crank hp rating. Some use 18-20% for the auto cars.
