Some things are more expensive. Have you priced caps, rotors, plug wires? The big stuff costs a little more, but not outrageously so(usually). Nissan Rotors for my '74 Z cost about the same as shark rotors. 928 pads are more expensive, maybe double. The cheapest 928 shocks cost more than performance shocks(struts) for the Z.
But then again, it's NOT a Z, it's NOT a Honda, it's a different experience. The difference is a lot more real than the difference between coach and first class, though that's not a bad comparison. Get there cheaply, bored to tears -- or pay a bit more and have the time of your life. These cars are not for folks who feel/have a need to pinch every penny.
