I used him last year and the new keys work great. My original key was worn way down and the new keys were restored to like new 'code'. The keys are double sided cuts, but only one side aligns the tumblers. This way the key works no matter which way you put it in the lock. My dad got tired of carrying a seperate key for the ignition and the trunk of his one American car years ago. He had a locksmith cut the ignition/doorlock code on one side and the trunk lock code on the other.
The issue of other people's keys working in your car is due to the number of codes that the manufacturer has for each given model year. the lower the number of codes and the higher sales of a particular model year increases the odds. GM for years had a very low number of key codes; sometimes only about 1,000 or less.
