Unhappy OH NO ! another newby...(option codes - rv)

Ok on to my second post. After searching thru back compartment of my new toy , and original manuals, it figures the options code sticker is not available.
I spent time searching the forum and it looks like there were considerable options/variations with the 928. Especially when it came to interiors.

I did find exterior color code sticker (slate blue met). Interior APPEARS to be all leather. All panels, visors, consoles front and back, but I still need options stickers to confirm that and interior color codes. Looks like dark/navy blue and

So short of purchasing one of those certificates of authenticity (pricey little bugger ) any suggestions??

Car was originally purchased at Scottsdale Porsche-Audi (Arizona) in March of 83. VIN is WPOJB0925DS861087

Anyone with the inside track who could get the options sheet, It would be greatly appreciated. Thanks, Kevin

If the dash and door armrest , console have stitched sewn seams they are leather.. the car is an 83 they tended to have more leather than the typical later car. Beyond that there were few "options" the normal dealer stocked 928s were all much the same.....automatic ,sunroof , air cond , etc.

If you have the original warranty booklet, it may have the options listed along with the VIN.

Default Yep its leather..

The dash and arm rests and just about everything else are leather. Interior is dark blue with some type of tan seats and accents. Not sure of the official names of these colors. There are interior pics on my first post a few days back that are right on the money color wise. I was going to order some dyes to touch up a few spots on interior but figured I needed the Porsche code or at least the right name of color.

Hey Jim, funny thing ....the car came with an old 928Intl. catalougue in it ! So I looked you up on the web, and have already made a couple orders with some more to come.

Yes we have been selling 928 parts for 20 years or so. We have provided parts to many , many owners .....sometimes same car different owners. There was only one dark blue used KZ3 Blue , the seats are probably LG5 Champagner. That was a typical combination.

You could always try calling the dealer - they have moved - but I believe todays Porsche North Scottsdale is the same dealer that sold the car originally and may have records if you can persuade them to look...

You might try contacting Porsche AG (?) in Atlanta. I think the only thing you can get from them is some kind of Cert. of Authenticity and they charge for that, but it depends on how important it is to you. Better to put effort into the dealer that sold it.

Default Good idea

Thanks. iI will check into that. I wondered if they were the same dealers with a new name/location. So is there much of a 928 group in AZ? If so i`d like to get in touch. Thanks, Kevin

Rixter,

How did you get these? My 84 has an option "D96" that no one has heard of. Showed Roger and the DFW clan, and everyone is stumped. Its on the tag in the rear hatch, and is on the orig. window sticker I have. It was a $3350 option. Im more curious than anything.

Rixter,
where you able to pull the option codes off the VIN. If so I would greatly appreciate if you could get mine as well. I recently picked up an 85 and when looking for the option codes found the sticker I believe should identify them but it has nothing I can identify as an option code. I know the car at least came with a stereo booster which should be code 494 and it is nowhere on the label. I can get you my vin later today if you can help.
