My buddy Evan had some made for his 89 5spd, one in leather and one in vinyl. They guy charged him about $125 each. Matched factory to the 'T'.
I'll check with Evan to see if I can get the info.

Those flaps are supposed to attach to the top/back surface of the rear seatback, with the snaps. This provides for cover for that area of the compartment when the rear seatbacks are laid flat.
So some rear seat backs have snaps, like sharkskin's? I've got to get out of the house more.

The reason I asked about vinyl or leather is that most US 928s have interiors made of vinyl and/or leather. Those are existing materials in the car, that could be matched relatively easily in all colors - not just the four sunbrella colors. A vinyl or leather cover could be made to match the interior much more closely.
For example, there is no aftermarket cover that matches my classic grey interior. I could not want to put a black one in, because it would look out of place. However, I don't want the Porsche material again, because sooner or later it would rip again in the same way the original did. And I would not want to spend about $600 on an original replacement, providing it even is available nowadays.
The trouble is the hardware. I don't think you can just buy the ltittle plasctic thingies that hook into the receivers in the quarter panels and hatch. This means you'd need a donor cover, or fabricate these pieces - which ups the cost.
Before I would even look into importing or having made any covers, I need to know, if there is a broad enough interest for a new solution, and what the price limit would be. Your input is very interesting! Thanks, and keep it coming!

Please do Nicole and as I said -- all X-options. Anyway, I have donor broken originals, and I bet most of us do, so that is no problem. I think at a reasonable price, most of us would buy one or more ... I have some good factory ones and a couple of dead factory ones, but if we could have them re-done reasonably in leather (yes Dave, vinyl ) then I will buy two. Reasonable to me is under 300 bucks each. Scott M mentioned 125 ... at that price I'll redo all of them.

Excuse my ignorance but.if I had read the whole thing I would have picked the " what the heck is a luggage cover" option. Is this just used to keep your belongings out of view? Does it perform any other function? I do like that little net though. That could come in handy if I ever need to trap small animals and fish to survive while stranded in my 928.

Luggage covers are great for those "When this Porsche's a-rockin'" signs because you can fit quite a few 2-foot tall 20yo babes under one. Also, a leather luggage cover seals in the freshness, seals out the heat when you have to carry fresh salmon in your 928, or perhaps some venison. I use mine for additional downforce when the hatch pops open at speed, as it creates what is commonly known as a "Geschpitzeren Vortex" between the actual decklid and the rear hatch carpet. This is good for at least 50 horses.
Seriously, it keeps things from toasting in the back; keeps the fuel tank cool; keeps items hidden; looks cool; smells cool in leather; and I just want one.
