Dave . . . Next year can't roll around fast enough for me.

John E, John Davis & Rixter . . . It was great meeting you guys. I feel bad leaving anyone out but the list is long. Rixter, thank you so much for the horns. That S4 you just bought is SWEET. Lotsa luck with it. Now to fix the head light I lost. Don't ask.

Ron,

Great meeting you as well. That's one sweet winking 928 you have. Good thing it didn't mess the paint up, just the light.

There's Jack & Smilin' Greg standing at my door. Can you tell I was good2go. I pushed the 88 hard & it responded perfectly. I think I better check that timing belt soon.

So what is the story on that modular X that DR is showing in that picture? I wasn't there to hear the announcement on it.

Details anyone?

Thanks.

If I may, correct me if I'm wrong on any point people. It's a new design that DR has been working on. Going into production shortly and will start shipping in 6 weeks as I recall. The model you see in the picture is a prototype. The final will be even better looking with less welds as most parts will be shaped from one section. It's going to be made out of "bling bling" 320(? someone correct me I'm sure I'm wrong) grade Stainless steel, so the car will deteriorate around the X-pipe and not vice versa. The system is modular so that you can install/remove the CAT's for emmisions/track. As I recall the system is priced at $499.00 and the CATs are an eadded $100.00 (I think that was it, correct me if I'm wrong). The system will be tested against options (test pipe, other available x-pipes, stock exhaust soon). DR made no claim that it will provide better numbers than what is available. That was not his primary design goal. Having a long lasting system with the modular design was. Numbers should be close to what is out there though. It also helps that it will be damn sweet to look at. DR also took a vote on what customers were looking for, and it looks like there will be three ports for O2 sensors so owners can install accordingly to their needs (coming with two capped naturally). The system will fit all years. If you upgrade your 928, you can take the exhaust with you to the new car.

Pretty sweet huh?

It's the new x-pipe being offered by 928 Specialists. The modular portion can be swapped between fittings with/without catalytic converters.

That is our new Modular Crossover System. I will have more details here and on the web site in a few days after I recoup from SITM, what a great time, thanks again to all who attended!!

Here are a few teaser photos of the pre-production piece. The production ones will be even nicer, 1 piece mandrill bent head pipes, better finish etc.

Sounds like it was another first-class event. Well done, 928 Specialists gang!

That white convertible at the front of the pack looks kinda familiar. What happened to it?

Ok, as i recall, it is to be made out of 304 stainless steel. The center section is a die stamped section, so the "X" is identical on every piece. It is a 2.5" piece, and will bolt up to all stock 928 dual exhaust systems, with plans for a mds version. The unit comes with nice clamp hardware, making pulling the cats for race day a 30min job. It is being made by the same craftsman who is doing the 928 specialists rmb's. Dave noted that the "X" piece is custom made for 928 specialists.
