Default Thinking about a RMB - which one? (For my S4)

I like the look of the Specialist 5 1/2" Black monster?.

https://www.928gt.com/default1.htm

How does it sound. Does anyone have an audio clip?.

Which one do you prefer and why?

TIA

The oval is tempting but it's not stainless and will require up keep. Dual tip stainless for that GTS look.

In my opinion ,having a coffee can exhaust tip simply tells everyone that the driver of the car has not a clue about how engines function. If you personally like the LOOK that alone maybe justification just recognize that some people will be laughing at your choice. Just about every other Honda here seems to be lowered no shocks and coffee canned cracks me up when I hear the automatic shift as they drone by. Seems 85-90 mph is the norm weaving in and out of traffic. And yes they often have the strut mounted big aluminum wing.........you must need that "downforce" for the freeway slalom. But it is your car, I just put a TURBO script on the back of the very brown 1980 why ? because I could ! Besides I like being laughed at !

I am very partial to the dual tip stainless. I have it. Everybody says the car sounds great. I've heard a few other RMB models that use a single large chamber end and the tone is not as good. Looks too much like a ricer coffee can tip to me too.

My main reason for going with an RMB is not for looks but for performance. And Yes JB - I agree with what your saying 100% - one mans ceiling is another mans floor.

I guess my real question should be - which RMB offers better performance increases - The Oval or the dual tip?.

TIA - again!

I just had the twin tip Stainless RMB installed on my Shark today at lunchtime (took ten minutes at my local garage) and was nearly late getting back to the office because the sound was so addictive.

I'm not sure if there is a performance increase but it was worth it to give the car a voice. There must be a reduction in backpressure as the rear muffler is a hefty piece...

Andrew I do not think there is much difference I do not think anyone has dyno tested them back to back. The main pipes are about 2 1/4 inch so when you step up to 3 inch pipes or a big Oval the last few inches of several feet of exhaust should make little difference. Tone wise the big oval might give more inboard motorboat underwater burble burble at idle speed.

If I am going with an RMB - Im going with New -

Too Bad they dont make a stainless in the 5 1/4" oval. Now - if I can only make up my mind!

Abby - Tom has talked nothing but great things about your shark and If Im not mistaken - he said it sounded awesome - ( Minus the fact you almost got him thrown in Jail! LOL/JK)
