Richard I was serious I did glue on a TURBO script before going to the track last weekend. One 911 "expert" did state Wow that must be fast with a Turbo ! I told her it was not true but just wanted to make those people who ended up behind me feel better about being passed by a faded old very brown 1980, I use everyone of those 195 RWHP....... I have way too much fun at the track. At the end of the day She did say after hearing my best time announced when I got a trophy, That is a really fast time for that car. I run in the lower classes, I guess I am just a low class kind of guy.

Hey, Richard - you livin' in your car? Sure looks like it.

I'll be adding an RMB soon myself, but because my car is a dark colour, and there is no chrome anywhere else on the car I'm thinking about a black tip version instead of stainless. But, I'd prefer the low maintenance and longevity of the stainless version.

How is the black tip holding up appearance-wise?

Anyone install a stainless version on a dark colour car?

Jim, can your ***-ometer feel the extra HP from the TURBO script? C'mon, you know your up to at least 200 RWHP by now.... (you should add a red "Type R" sticker next...can you say 205 RWHP?)

Randy....car was loaded and leaving for Battle Mountain and the Pony Express ORR last summer....you should have seen George's load....

Yeah it was......not as bad as telling an ethnic joke in the wrong company, but unintended on my part in any event. I bought the dual tip stainless RMB, and that seemed to get me "forgiven".

BTW, while a GT with cats, small resonators and no muffler has a nice sound, the "inspector" put the car on the lift anyway to check out the exhaust system. The RMB looks so much like the original equipment, the guy's only reaction was: "those are the smallest mufflers I have ever seen". He was referring to the resonators. Yeah, room temp IQ and all.....a smarter "inspector" would have known, I suppose. I do believe my shark is the only one this guy has ever seen, though. Besides, he stickers my Harley every year, screaming eagles and all.......

In summary, I am not ever going back to the stock muffler.....IMO, the RMB is the best bang for the buck upgrade you can do to a shark.

I have the black twin tip on my 89. It was already in place when I bought it, but knowing how great it sounds, I'll never own one without it. I have always wondered what the 928 would have looked like with the RX-7 type duals in the back. (one on each side) I always liked that look. No "coffee cans" mind you before I elicit covered mouths and giggles, just something sensible. I had 4 RX-7s while I was dreaming of owning a Shark, and it is amazing how much the RX favors it in design although they couldn't be more different under the skin.

So just how much bigger is the single outlet RMB than the stock single outlet muffler? The GTS needs an RMB (CarChick pines that it's too quiet) and I was thinking about the single outlet RMB just to be different as the other two have the SS 2-holer.

As for longevity, I don't think it matters too much. My oldest SS RMB - probably about 6 years at this point - will require replacement by the time it hits 10. The pipes behind the SS tips will likely be holey by then.

How's that pumbed around the fuel tank? Or do you have a fuel cell?

The only twin-pipe sharks I've seen with a real twin-pipe setup had a fuel cell. I did see a stock-tanked 928 with the twin-pipe setup: the one on the p-side was basically a fake.

Bill I mean EXACTLY like that. Is that yours? It just sets off the already fabulous rear end of the Shark. FABULOUS!

Garrett,

I don't think that's Bill's car. His tags expires in OCT... plus he has a black wing.
