Jim,

Glad to hear that you and your passenger are ok. Cars can be replaced, people can't. In my way of thinking, things worked out just fine knowing that you guys are ok.

If you don't have to give the car to the insurance company and the chassis is reasonably straight the convertable thing might be an option. Although perhaps not a great one if you live in the northwest. Anyway, if you actually become interested in that you are welcome to come down and make copies of all the convertable parts on my '79.

Unbelievable.

Hope you recover from this soon, Jim. I'm glad you weren't injured worse.
My thoughts are with you,

And I was upset about a little contact I made with the garage door frame a few days ago!

Jeez, Jim. We are all grieving along with you. The car took a beating, but you guys are OK except for some aches and bruises. Glad to hear that!

Take some time and look the car over. I don't want to say something heretical, but it looks like the big problem is the roof. The undercarriage looks like it's OK. This could be one hot cabriolet. Probably a few too many panels to be pracitcal, though.

My sincerest sympathies.

Hacker:

Too late on the GTS cab, there is one in Europe. But I don't have any GT Cabs in my database.

Man, that just sucks! One after the next it seems... And all really cool supercharged cars! That really sucks! We need more of those beasts on the road!

Very sorry over this, but glad you are OK. This is the first picture I have seen of a flipped 928. I just never thought they could flip over, but given your speed and the lie of the land, it makes sense. Seems the track should anticipate something like this and have these areas graded smooth.

Since many folks are strapping on major hp now, they are not familiar with the charactoristics of major power. This is why most of the muscle cars from the 60's got wrecked.

I think I will copy thew pic for my own file. I am sure the SOCAL guys will be interested in the pics as well.

Good luck and stay safe Jim!

She is a true car affocianado and knows how much we loves these cars.
I won't be telling her about this

that really bites!!! sorry to hear of the loss. what are you going to do? i think its easier to gut it and pound it out than transfer all that good stuff to another car. should be fixable, right?

sounds like some real bad luck that you slide for a while and then had to hit a slight rise in a normally wide open track (like our Thunderhill) and not hit anything, but roll. that really sucks!

Sorry to hear about it, but mostly glad you are ok

Mark

is that one strong chassis or what!!????
