I definately agree. I pulled the fenders off the other day and couldn't believe how thin and light they were, yet all of the parts in front of the car underneath the front bumper cover are very solid and thick pieces of metal. Now that i'm looking a little more closely at the whole thing, the engine was pushed back slightly. There appear to be cracks in the cam covers. I'm glad the SC kit survived though.

Aren't all vehicles just a big roller skate with some nice looking lightweight panels covering the raggy edges of the motor and suspension? The 928 being the most aerodynamic and pleasing. And I'm trying to understand the Weissach too. Anyway, when I put weight on the flat upper surface of the fender and it gives, I think, boy, that is kinda flimsy, but all it is really meant to do is direct the flow of air around and cover the wheels, and when I release the weight of my hand it springs back, becomes a cosmetic fender again. Anyway, I hope your engine is OK, but I suspect that since your momentum was along the longitudinal plane, obviously all the force was absorbed by the nose, rad, and into the engine. If it were a 911, the front would crumple, different story, but then 911s have a survival mode that frequently puts the engine in the front of the momentum too . That car with all its characteristics prob saved 3 lives.

Wow Mike... Incredible. Two SC sharks down, and all I did was go away for a few weeks.... I wanted to post in Jim's thread too but it's closed. So, I'll say what I have to say to both of you here... I'm glad that these incidents did not result in injuries, and while it is unfortunate to see sharks die it is a testament to their quality and safety that they take such good care of their occupants. As others have said... maybe this is an opportunity.

Best of luck going forward.

It seems the wrecking has stopped or atleast slowed down. No new threads in a while. Lets try to keep it that way as long as we can.

Mike:

Do you plan on selling your engine management system?
