seems to stream well, if you have high speed connections. (about 19MBs) classic footage. the guy (mike allen in the BMW) does a great job of on screen commentary and its pretty funny .

But its nicer to have both!! i thought the front guys were just that much faster this year, its just that was just that much slower!!! cant believe I wasted a chance for an even better race on cheapo rear used hoosiers. heck, new ones could have cost $500, but i could have used some almost brand new toyos from the Audis speed GT car last year and done much better.

You would think i would have learned by now!

Great job this weekend. You were very cool under pressure in that video.

If I recall correctly, the Audis were on 305/35/18 RA-1's on all four corners. Have you run with 275/35/18 front and 305/35/18 rear? Just curious because of the pretty big difference in diameter and wondering if there'd be any problems with ABS due to this.

as far as the tires, actually, in speed GT, the vets, vipers ,and 928s were allowed the 335x30x18s and i fit them in the rear. (surgically!) so that was 275s and 335s! however, the 335x30 on an 11" rim is pinched a bit and becomes narrower by almost an inch! and slightly taller than the same tire on a 12 or 13" rim. the 305x35, although ive been waiting for the toyos to wear out, are going to actually be the same effective diameter as the 335s on the 11" rim and will be more of a correct fit for the 305. (roughly 25.8" diameter) (and same as my 315x35x17s hoosiers)

If i remember correctly, i think the 275x35s are also in the 25.5" range.

the bare tire 335x30 vs 305 vs 35 are different, the 335 being .75" wider and the 305 being about .25" taller.. However, as i mentioned the rim width has a lot to do with the final results. drives you crazy when you only have mm's to play with as i did with the 335 fit and you are using the off rim shape and size or website specs. (305s fit no problem.)

As far as ABS. ????? dont know, i know i only use it as a safety net, as its slow to work anyway, so doesnt help much when it engages. maybe it would work better with equal size tires, but since the abs works on diagnals, maybe the front to rear diff is cancelled out. good question for the ABS gurus

The centers of those rears are toast - run them pretty low pressure - you might be oK.

DK, im been thinking about them for awhile. they look so good, but i remember your issues with them and i really think you had the pressures too high. I know you liked the new tires at a lower pressure, but heck, new tires tend to work regardless! If you over pressured them, it means you probably never really got them to heat up overall and the tread looks pretty good. tell me this, and this is the deal killer, how many heat cycles did you use them for before laguna?

Im thinking you did portland for a weekend and part of laguna. am i close?

if much more than that, especially after this weekend, i may pitch everything!!! and even sell my 17s and just get another set of kenesis 18s and put on almost new hoosiers and then use up the toyos i have stockpiled!

I just watched it again, this time with the sound on. I forgot how many times i actually grabbed 1st gear to get out of the hole and stay ahead of the m3. almost sounds like a close ratio gear box going from 1st all the way to 4th down the main straight. pretty cool watching from inside someone elses car. I just love the sound of our cars!
Now, after watching it again, im definitely tossing those tires! you cant really see it all the time, but the engine sounds gives the spinning away .

hey, at least the ole bird held together (knock knock knock) we will have to see if i have any more cam sprocket teeth in the oil!
4th season and still kickin!
