Yeah... I'd like to know that too...

I only found room to do that on the I-5, heading up through the central valley...

Randy, Brian...I know you guys are bit south, but the 99 heading toward Bakersfield...or back.

Done that strip several times with the V1 and have NEVER (in my times there) seen "the Man". Several miles of NO EXITS or ENTRANCES, staight and there is an 8 foot hedge of Oleander stretching all the way down the center of that highway. Has to be about 10 miles of nuthin at the best point. It shouldn't take you that distance to top out the car.......but you can run it for a minute or two at that speed

400Km/hr.....by my estimates that about 250mph! With the 928's known aerodynamics...wouldn't that take about 700whp? or more to reach? Last I checked you still hold the fastest 928 record at 211 right?

There are some sections of road in Central CA where you can get to, and over 170mph... 99, 5, 46, 58, 101 are just a few.. I would say 5 is risking it in many areas.. 99 as Keith pointed out with that long row of bushes is not too bad.. It (99) is going to be widened as well in Norcal....

The key is to have your protection, and possibly a spotter car along for the ride with your tires in top shape... If you get stopped, you will be in a lot of S#$%, and certainly need a lawyer.... 101 is a risk, as the Choppers are sometimes out as well as the cars.

Or, just go ORR in Nevada......

Personally prefer the German roads that are unrestricted, as you don't have to worry about police, just driving and traffic... But, the ORR may be the safest place, as the traffic is controlled.

Once I was on the A9 just outside of Leipzig, and some joking fool cut across 5 lanes to get to the left lane, and I was flooring it at 250 Km/h+ in my 740, high beams on and all, and this moron just came right across.. I could not stop in time, so I just put two wheels onto the strip of road between the armco and missed his driver's side mirror by 2-3 inches MAX... I swear I lost 5 pounds just in that instant.....

Anyway, be safe wherever you open your 928's lungs....

Bill - I'm on my way down to TJ right now to find a "juarez plating" that could possibly acid dip my doors, fenders, hood, etc. Can you give me a call?

Bill,

There is always next Sunday Morning. For all you nay sayers, that would mean I'd have a second witness. Oh, and I know a good lawyer.

Go for it.

When I get my car running right I'm going to have a (cop) friend clock me. I'm hoping to beat 160, but I'll be running near redline 5th gear around there.

I calc'd it at a tick over 1100 chp, easily doable with TT applications ... Come on tom C, Get going!!

Right now, The Whtie Cars "engine" will propel a Stock S4 (white car too wide now with rear flares) to approx 231 mph.

Yup, so fa the record holds ... beat a hyped, Ruf supported BTR also! Some SC guys are praying to the gods of speed to break our recor. Good luck to all!

Be fast, be safe.

Marc,

So am I correct to guess that 550 RWHP will get to 231mph in a stock body with aero mirrors..?

Would an undertray improve this number...? Would it still require 1100 CHP to get to 250mph on a narrow body S4... I was guessing it would take 900 in a narrow body.. Just a guess, no science....
