We have a NEW fan kit for sale ..... they cool off the radiator faster than a stock S4 setup, and are ideal for converting early 928 to electric fans and for SC applications. Light weight aluminum frame.

They will mount to both a stock radiator as well as the DEVEK radiator and requires partial use of the upper shroud for air tube mounting. We will have a separate part manufactured shortly for those missing fan shrouds.

If you don't have an S4 or better, your car won't have the circuitry required to run fans. All it takes is a couple relays, fuses, and a signal wire. You could get fancy with temperature controllers if you want to. I believe they can be had for under $100.

Electric fans are great.I've run a single big electric on my 79 since 1991.I just used a 944 fan switch screwed right into the mounting hole that was being used for the "overheat" sensor for the front boost a/c fan.

If you consult the jegs or summit catalog, temperature controlled fan circuit kits can be had for less than $50, including the adjustable temp module, sensor, and all the relays and wiring necessary for the job. Curiously enough, the painless kit is one of the cheaper offerings, and i have had great sucess using their products in the past. BTW, very nice looking assembly Mark, and the rest of the devek team.

This will not work with a centrifugal blower unless it is able to be mounted on the front of the radiaror. Mounted on the rear of the radiator it will interfere with the air box for the blower, (at least in the S4 and later models, and likely the earlier models as well) Fast Carl will be more familiar with the earlier model configurations than I am.

The fans themselves can be had for pretty cheap money, it is the shroud that has engineering value......

FWIW those are the SPAL High Performance fans 970 CFM each I believe. Each one is a minimum of $150 at low retail. This is a really good value.

It's a bit over priced, but also looks well made. Does it come with a variable fan controller, so you don't kill the battery?

ebay shows the SPAL 13" for about $85, the 16" for about the same in the S blade config. It's a nice housing, although there's a lot of blocked off area with the aluminum shroud. The absolute most efficient forced air cooling is the puller fan mounted right up to the inside fins of the heat exchanger(radiator). When the fan blades move back from the fins, there's air surround loss, also differential pressure loss from the larger gap. JC Whitney offers a fan kit with thermo regulator that mounts right to the radiator for pretty reasonable. Will push or pull, easy to hook up and can be intergrated into the current fan control with a relay.

The nice part about this kit is the good look of the surround. Cooling performance figures from testing? It should work okay, but I'd like to see some testing if it's intended for more than just appearance value.
