It does look clean. Hard for this group to really root for this kind of thing though....Hell us SC guys take a lot of crap from the "true" believers too.

Some how I think the Yellow car with a $500 Earl Scheib paint job ,painted over headlight squirters,bumper beading, brake ducts and the cutout hood is designed for shock value deliberately to try to get a reaction from the "Porsche People", collector purists . The S-4 has less edge but still has the ability to offend and that perhaps is part of the fun. When an 89 GT with headers, high flow exhaust ,adj fuel pressure will put 318 hp and 317 torque at the rear wheels ...do 100 mph+ 1/4 mi and top out at 170 mph or so .......I wonder what needed "fixing" ?? The chevy V-8 in the rear of a 911 also gets a lot of attention and that I believe is what this thread is all about .........and here we are talking about it Enjoy your cars in the end that is all that matters.

Just out of curiosity, why the carburetor instead of EFI? To me the GM EFI system would have looked a little more appropriate in this application.

A few years ago Bob Norwood ( crazy car modifier ) in Texas scored a Lagonda from a customer who got so frustrated trying to get a new fender from the factory that he gave up and sold the car to Bob thinking it couldnt be fixed. Bob simply took it to his fabricator ( builds awesome Ferrari replicas ) and had him make a fender for it. We cruised around Texas in it for a day. I love that car. Very distinctive!!

In any event... the spectrum of posters here is what creates the entertainment value.....but even I have an "ignore poster" list....(no, you don't make it Abby, ya gotta be a friggin big mouth know-it-all to get on it)
I guess my point was that it doesn't matter what you put that particular engine in....unless the whole package weighs less than 2,000 pounds, Gretch will blow its doors off.....But I admire anyone who has the committment to take a project like that to completion......And I like the big yellow monster too......I bet NOBODY challenges that SOB.......

200# lighter than an LT-1? That means you've taken about 400# off the front end, right? Maybe the 911 guys will like it better since it's not 50/50 anymore.

I like it, you did a nice job!
Something to think about for your next trick, you'll see better drivability, MPG and performance out of a nice Chevy OEM or Aftermarket EFI system than that old carb.
Were new front springs part of the kit?
Have you checked your weights yet?
Total weight:
Corner weight:
Cross weight:
Front to back percentage:

I'm just wondering, everyone is quoting that the chevy 350 is lighter than the 928 V8....but by how much? I know the 5 liters are around 580 or so....so how much lighter could an aluminum pushrod 350 really be? 400lbs?
