Default Aluminum door handles-- will modded 911 ones work?

So, billet aluminum inner door handles for 928s seem like they are no longer available.

They are still available for 911's.

So, I had an idea. Looking at photos only, it looks as though the 911 handles --might- work on a 928 if modified-- if the big rectangular 911 handle was cut away to form the L-shape of the 928 handle. I'm not positive, of course. But it may work, depending on how the mechanism attacment points are set up. I can't really tell from the online photos I have looked at.

SO: does anybody have a plastic 911 handle they could doublecheck against the 928?

thanks in advance

C'mon, people, somebody must have a 911 handle laying around somewhere. You know you sods will be all over me on posting how to do it, with pics, if I find out it works and I put aluminum handles on my car.

C'mon, give!

Nope, for almost a year. They told me they're taking them off their website soon if they can't find another supplier.

I thought the 911 handles were entirely different.

Did you know that Jager Engineering (www.jageng.com) has a trim kit that makes the standard handles look like they were made of aluminum?

C'mon-- this is a 928! Mods must be upgrades or they shouldn't be made at all. Stickers?

I looked at those but it would mean one more edge to catch on fabric, hair, collect grit, etc.

I'd rather have a solid aluminum handle.
