I know the Audi wheels (112mm lug pattern) fit ours, but with a readily available adapter...
I had spacers / adapters made.

Hi Geir... we're still busy getting the lefthand side of the car symmetrical, and shaping the hood and front splitter. I'll have updated pics this coming Saturday if all goes well. The plan is to pull molds next week and our aim is to have the car finished by February 23rd.

I'll keep you posted.

Cheers,
Pierre.

Pierre:

Sorry, don't like that rocker panel either. In fact, I never have warmed up to the design of the 996's at all. In my opinion (I know, everyone has one) it would look better if the taper at the leading edge of the rear fender (wing) was repeated at the trailing edge of the front fender - which would really accentuate the flair of the front fender. Well, you did ask for negative feedback .

The rest looks great, although you might consider using NACA ducts in the hood since it is a low presure area.

Just a quick update - We're a bit behind schedule, Gavin's been under the weather with tonsilitis (sp?). The hood is done and we are 99% ready to start making the molds for everything. I'll take some pics early next week before we start molding. I'll also take some pics during the molding process to show how we're doing it.

Cheers,
Pierre.

We're finally done with shaping the car and getting it symmetrical. On Monday we'll start making the molds. I took these pics today, but unfortunately we could not move the car outside in the sun because the splitter is too low for Gavin's garage ramp.

The Splitter - The horizontal part is basically just an 8mm thick flat sheet prodruding 100mm at the front and ends just before the front wheels. (+/-500mm at the widest point.) It will be made with carbon kevlar for flexibility, with a carbon fiber overlay.

The vertical parts of the splitter (in front of the front wheels) will be fiber glass and will form part of front fenders.

The splitter angle will be adjustable through the springloaded adjusters you see in the pics.

Here's another pic of the gills, now with the splitter in place -

And here's a pic showing the vents on the hood -

Thats all the pics I snapped today. I'll take some pics next week of the molding process.

Cheers,
Pierre.

It's looking like a pretty cool and unique racecar!

One question...

South Africa is a bit hot at times, is it not?
If so, is black going to be a good color for being on the track in the sun all day?
It might get pretty damn hot in there. It looks badass in black, but...

Yes... as a matter of fact i just had a long discussion today with Gavin about the color of the car. We decided to stay with black for now. Winter months are coming up in the southern hemisphere, so we gonna run the car in black livery for now, but we might change to silver or something else later in the year.
