Congratulations on getting it to this stage! Car looks very mean. Good luck with the shakedowns and then race. Keep us posted!

Tested at Midvaal today, a small race track in the middle of nowhere. The car attracted a lot of attention and plenty people came to have look and made nice comments.

Engine - Sweet, but it can do with more power. Temps are running too hot, so we're replacing the water pump and making a few minor alterations.

Box & LS diff - Gearbox is smooth and exact as a hot knife through butter, but the short shifter is too vague for my liking. LS diff is nice and progressive.

Suspension & brakes - Exceeded my wildest expectations, even in corners that thought a 928 would struggle. The more I gave it, the more the car asked for. I was getting on the power earlier and earlier with each lap and the car just took it with ease, on old Dunlop slicks mind you. Very impressive.

Big reds from a 964 with Pagid pads make this thing stop on a dime.

Aerodynamics - Seems okay. The rear wing whistles like a supercharger on boost. He-he.

For the first shakedown I'm happy. Sorry I didn't take more pics and on-board footage as promised, but i was kinda pre-occupied with sussing out the car. I'll have an on-board camera in the car for next weekend's race.

Cheers,
Pierre.

I've never noticed before that the ignition bar is apparently the same as a LHD car so the key ends up next to the window on a RHD car, in the racing tradition of Porsche; designed for those La Mans type starts.

Here's a cellphone pic someone just emailed me. The first on track pic I have, hopefully I'll have more to post in the near future.

If you get any pics of the car diving into a corner, it'll give a sense of how much the car 'leans'.

It has very little body roll. Custom Billstiens and we started with H&R springs 120 newtons in front and 90 in the back. I just got this photo from a hot lap.

Thanks, I'm happy with the way it worked out.

It sucks air from the base of the windscreen, a high-pressure area. Moulded underneath the hood there is a block off plate and cowling that seals straight onto the airbox, replacing the airbox lid and the need for intake tubes. It's working well so far. I'll take detailed pics if anyone is interested.

The side shot reminds me of the early curvaceous Corvettes. Pretty cool. Car's got a waist and hips.

Interesting they let you run with windows in place. Over here it's remove the windows and install a window net. Great looking car, bet it's a ton of fun! Now drop it another inch!

We pulled some long hours this week to prep the car, sort out all the snags and clean it up for this weekend's Porsche Challenge race. Missed practice and quali today, but we're all stickered up and ready. Dropped the car off at Kyalami Race track earlier this evening.

We'll see how it goes tomorrow. Wist me luck.

Thanks a mill. I'm happy. 12:20pm here, I should be in bed, but too excited to sleep. Kinda like a kid on Xmas eve waiting to open gifts.
