Quick update -
I haven't been able to do any further development on the car, except for making a lower X brace for the front. The next race is at Kyalami next weekend. Kyalami is a fast flowing track, so I'm not really concerned about the understeer in slow corners.
My day job's been keeping me very busy lately, and in my off time I've been testing a bunch of track cars for friends and a local mag i write for. It's been a blast driving cars like the 917, 993TT, 944 turbo cup, GT40 etc. In the next couple of weeks I have a drive in a turbo 500hp Honda powered Excige coming up, as well as a test in a Formula Renault. Can't wait for that!
I've been talking to the engineering shop about the shift gate thingy, but i haven't had time to follow up. As soon as I have an aswer I'll let you know.
Cheers for now,
Pierre.

Pierre, I look forward to more updates on Fat Bully's handling. You are right, Kyalami should not induce much understeer and you should be really fast there!

Fat Bully got a cup this weekend, despite the right rear wheel bearing packing up on Friday, not making quali and starting from the back of the grid in both heats and a power steering belt that came off at the start of heat 2.
So today Fat Bully has a trophy to show for its efforts yesterday, and I have sore and stiff arms and shoulders for my efforts behind a very heavy steering wheel. I drove it like you would pull down on the chain of a roller shutter door. Both hands on the same side of the steering wheel and you pull down like hell. Long sweepers were the most difficult corners to make. I've never been so knacked after a race, not even in 250 karts.
I think the racing gods felt sorry for me. At prize giving they gave me the wrong trophy - a 2nd place trophy instead of 3rd. When I took it back they said it's okay, i should just keep it.
Damn car made me work hard this weekend.

While I havent tracked my car yet, I do have sticky rubber on it, and do thrash it through the corners.
I work on diamond drill rigs, and lift heavy things all day :P not one of those panzy desk jobs lol

Lizard,
Did you take the PS pump off or the belt or something??? PS racks are normally TERRIBLE to turn if they are not getting power... Did you replace it w/ some other steering rack??? All 928's came w/ PS...
Send me some diamonds some time...big ones preferred, F or VVS1, D color if you can! LOL! My grandmother has a 2.02ct., VVS1, D, Radiant cut...AWESOME STONE!
